So Parker Might Not Play This Week Either

Yes, and you also have coaches there that argue they could do the same with any top 15 qb. Which means the wrs required are a system fit.

And assistant coaches that leave there and fall flat. And coaches with top 15 QBs that don’t do what Belicheck has done.

My point was that Miami doesn’t have either so they need better talent to offset the QB and coaching deficiencies. Your theory isn’t wrong, but it takes some combination of elite D, elite coaching, elite QB, etc to make up the difference then.

It also takes a few seasons to build that type of team, one that has the right players to buy into the system and the talent to make it work. I don’t know if gase has the right system, or the players to run it, but he’s closer this year than last year for sure. Now to see if any of the pieces add up to elite for any period of time.

I hear what you’re saying. As a group, they don’t need a superstar WR 1 and they run efficient high probability plays. It’s why RTs comp % is so high.

I like Stills for what he does. One of the most efficient WRs. I’d like a little more volume though. I just don’t think they have enough and unless DVP becomes that guy, then they’ll be searching for the right guy this offseason. Wilson is a nice 3rd WR. Does a little bit of everything and Grant to fill in behind Wilson. Nice depth. I’d love to see them find the next Tyreek Hill. Maybe next year.

Remove what you see on the highlight reel and you’re left with avg in TDs, below avg in 3rd down eff, below avg in 1st downs, below avg in yards, and below avg in ypr. They’re going to fall farther behind as the season progresses in these categories. But if they keep winning then it doesn’t really matter.

i think today was a great example of what i was talking about. this assembled group of receivers is built a special way for unique things- a group that is integrated with our TEs and RBs to produce a grind it out ball control passing attack that also has quick strike ability.

I think we have put together a group that is FAR abive league average as far as effectiveness/potential and what headaches it poses to D Coords.

It certainly was, I’ll give you that and give Miami credit for the win.

My concern is they won on gimmick plays. The deep TD pass to Stills was nice. However, the end around, quick flips, WR passes will not always work. Especially now that teams have film. But hey, enjoy the win. I’m sure we’ll argue some more all week.
