I've been hammered on re: Not being a "TRUE" fan because I express doubt.

Or, I'm not a "True" fan because I express doubt re: (fill in player)

I'm completely disappointed in the lack of support from TRUE fans.....

So, lets get the board hopping. "TRUE" fans would plus up the board.:D

I am also disappointed. I really felt at the beginning of the season we were destined to be something special and having a very good 12-4 season. But, when the season started, Expectations were pretty high. Now, I am an optimist and I believe we are going to do the same thing we did last year and run the tables to go 9-7. Yes, I may sound crazy but, I am a fan of the best team in NFL history. Why shouldn't I? But, if they don't hey oh well, we wait till next year like I've said before.

See, when I was 12 I went to Super Bowl XVII here in Pasadena, CA (ROSE BOWL My Dad and I went on January 30, 1983) where we played the Redskins. We lost 27-17 I cried really bad but, my dad told me "Son they are the greatest team ever to play in the NFL when you were 2 they went undeafeated and won the Super Bowl back to back."

The1982 season was the strike year we went 7-2. Since that time till now I have enjoyed watching the greatest football team in the NFL with the BEST QB in NFL history Dan the Man. I saw us go in 83: 12-4, 84: 14-2 (We went to Super Bowl 19 Loss to 49ers 38-17), 85: 12-4 (playoffs went the AFC Championship Game against our most hated rivals the Pathetics and loss), 86: 8-8 (no playoffs) 87: 8-7 (no playoffs with a strike again) 88: 6-10 (no playoffs worse season I endured). 89: 8-8 (no playoffs) 90: 12-4 (playoffs) 91: 8-8 (no playoffs) 92: 11-5 93: 9-7 (no playoffs) 94: 10-6 (playoffs) 95: 9-7 (playoffs) 96: 8-8 (no playoffs) 97: 9-7 (playoffs) 98: 10-6 (playoffs) 99: 9-7 (playoffs) (Dan Marino's last year and start of Wanny/ Fiedler era) 2000: 11-5 (AFC East Champs beat Colts lose to Raiders). 2001: 11-5 (Wild Card but lose at home against the Ravens) Pathetics win it all. 2002: 9-7 (no playoffs) 2003: 10-6 (no playoffs) 2004: 4-12 (no playoffs disasterous season ever for me end of Wanny era). 2005: 9-7 (no playoffs start of the Saban era). 2006: 5-7 (?).
Since that time I have enjoyed 230 WINS and went through 159 LOSSES. That is a whopping 59% winners. It's great to be a Dolphins fan even when we are as bad as we are right now because we can always look back and say
WOW. Now we're on a roll and it is great to win again!!!

I think I am considered a TRUE FAN. No?:D

Did I SAY you?

You know what I mean.

Goon Boss. You I must be I the same era right? You know what I am talking about. Thanks True fan. We need more like you.

You are who you are. You know deep down if your a fan or not, you don't need anybody telling you differently. I wear Dolphins t-shirts/hats 4 out of 5 days at work. Everybody knows that I'am a Dolphins fan. One day I wore a different t-shirt and some ding-bat asked me were my Dolphins shirt was at and mentioned that the Dolphins must have lost that weekend. She accused me of being a fair-weather fan and this was on like a Thursday.

I truly believe it is a frustration issue.

When the Fins struggle it has causes a need to lash out.
I'm guilty of it, were all guilty of it.

Doubt is not a bad thing when talking about the situation with the team. I've been a fan of the Miami Dolphins for a long, long time and have witnessed good and bad.

You have to remember you are on an internet forum. Opinions will run wild. And they are all welcome.

I learn alot here. Many posters with great knowledge and such.

I wouldn't sweat it too much or let it get to ya.

Stick with your team and live and die by them.

I'm just rabble rouseing :D

But, it does upset me that people are all "You're not a true fan!"

Where are all the "fans" now?

I'm where I have always been.

I wouldn't really worry about it. You know what kind of fan you are and that's all that matters. Some people are "they lost or we won", to me it's "we lost/we won" I've taken crap for saying "we", but I don't care. I know what kind of fan I'am and I don't need anybody telling me differently
:dolphins:

I will echo a bit of what finfang said. Everyone knows if they are a true fan or not. I firmly believe that expressing frustration, disagreeing with team moves, or even thinking your team won't do well does NOT make you a bad fan. In fact, i think a good measurement of what kind of fan you are is how invested you are in the team. Which means you have opinions and express them. It's the fan who says he/she doesn't care who isn't a true fan. Also, i think if you are on this board, reading every day, commenting and getting fired up.....you're a true fan.

Dissention is ok :D

I remember 1972 & 1973 as I was 6 then....40 now.....I just assumed the Phins would win the SB every year. :D

I have been waiting almost 35 years for another SB win. :(

Right there with you bro.

I was 6 on my grandparents Davenport watching the Super Bowl win against the Skins.

Then came the win in SB against the Vikes.

Of course the Riggins over Mc Neal debacle was brutal.

Then came Palo Alto against the 49ers in 1985. January 20th to be exact.

I know this because it was my 18th birthday!

Yeah it is true, The Dolphins lost the Super Bowl that day.

I'm still here. Waiting for us to get back.

Ditto

Thinking 84 was going to be the year. 14-2, Dan at the helm setting records. Figuring, ok, we lost this one, we'll be back next year. And the beat goes on and on and.....:dolphins:

I have been yelled at many times in this forum due to claiming that fans shouldn't have so much pessimism. But there can be optimistic fans and pessimistic fans, but neither makes you not a "true" fan. I have been a fan all my life, as far as i can remember, granted i am only 21, but I lOVE MY FINS. IF someone says that you are not a true fan, and you get mad, you are a true fan. If you dont get mad, maybe you are not a true fan. The way i look at it is, if someone claims you are not a true fan, be glad that you know there is alot more supporters out there.
