I don't know about the rest of you guys but I'm a little worried about this game on Sunday. I don't like some of the matchups we face all that much. Lately our pass rush has been on fire, but Minny has a solid offensive line that may be able to handle it. I'm also not warm and fuzzy about playing a team who is going to be very persistent with the running game without Keith Traylor in there. I hate the fact that Ronnie is either not going to be playing at 100% or not playing at all, I feel we need our best runner vs the NFL's best run defense. I enjoyed watching the defense terrorize two inexperienced QB's over the last 2 weeks but this week we face a very savy veteran who may be tougher to rattle. The Vikings offense has been really struggling to score the Dolphins need to make sure that trend continues by playing lights out defense, like they have been lately, and even more importantly limiting their negative plays on offense. With that being said that brings me to the nuts and bolts of this post. What will Miami do on Sunday and what is the better approach?? I believe the Vikings will have a tough time scoring on our defense so I'm going to concede this game will be won or lost by our offense.
1. Have a balanced attack with a good mixture of runs and passes. Keep slamming Ronnie or Sammie right into the heart of the Minny defense, regardless of the results, and pick our spots to make plays in the passing game. Basically the offensive focus would be to limit negative plays and count on the defense to win the game for us.
2. Spread the Vikings out and wing the ball around, like other teams have done with success vs Minny. Do we have the personnel to pull this off and can we count on our QB to catch fire, hit the open guys and limit mistakes?? If we use this approach and Joey has an efficient game there's no doubt we will win.
What do you guys think.
