I could not see the game today due to family issues, but, I checked the stats and I don't see his name anywhere on the sheet.

He was told to Contain the Gap he was covering in the second half, I think C Gap? And this prevented Thigpen from having any running lanes and made him stay in the pocket and beat him with his arm, which he didnt in the second half.

That's because he took the game off!!! This was definately not one of his better games. Luckily we still pulled out the victory tho...:woot:

I wondered the same thing when I saw zeros across the board for his def stats.

Hope everything's cool with the family, GB.

It shouldn't be that hard for teams to eliminate him since he is our only legit pass rusher on the team.

Well, we gave up 28 points in the first half and 3 in the second. If RobertHorry is correct about Porter having his responsibilities shifted, then even if he didn't make any plays per se, he had a positive impact on the outcome.

Porter had said before that playing in the cold for him was like ice stabbing him in the lungs/chest. I think thats what happened.

KC's shotgun oriented offense (they used it on 90 to 95 percent of their snaps) neutralizes the pass rush. Thigpen didn't make the mistake of holding on to the ball too long and anytime we did get a blitzer he got the ball off- although I feel it is VERY important to note that we did force a number of rushed throws, some of which missed wide open receivers and others which resulted in key interceptions. It really is a case where the stats don't tell the whole story.

Thigpen had all day back there. Brandon Albert is what happened to Porter. He looked pretty impressive at LT. On the plays I focused on....Porter was stoned by Albert.

Well he used to play in Pitt so that doesnt seem like a very relevant excuse. I still love what Porter brings, but im thinking his age is catching up and hes simply slowing down now that were hitting week 17.

Porter was missing in action all day....we never got any pressure on Thigpen....can't blame the cold on that.
