While most of us are either pessimistic or apathetic thinking about next season due to philbin staying and such, what scenario would make you garner a lot of excitement going into next season. It doesn't have to be that realistic but it can't be absurd (trade for Aaron Rodgers dude).

Mine would be a receiving corp of josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry and either devante Parker or Kevin white. As maddog would say, that would make my toes tingle.

Yours?

replacing Philbin and his staff with his veteran HC and his competent staff.

Gary Kubiack and Wade Philips could do wonders with group of talent.

Offense: A good starting boundary WR opposite Mike Wallace. Guys I have seen in CFB who excite me would be Kevin White, Sammie Coates, Devante Parker, or Jaelen Strong. Also need major upgrades to our starting guards. Alternately, if Mike Wallace and the staff just can't reconcile their differences, Andre Johnson brought in as a stopgap replacement.

Defense: Brandon Spikes -- or some other competent ILB option -- and the promise of more Chris McCain.

Special Teams: A cheaper punter and a better kicker.

If you convince me I'm going to get all of those things, I feel a lot better, even with the coaching staff coming back intact.

Unlimited caffeine & Indian (S Asian) food.

Oh, you meant related to the Dolphins. :chuckle:

Per JDW above, what about drafting Mckinney from Miss St & trading Wallace to the Niners for say Borland or Skov and a 3rd?

Tannehill not getting hit in otas

Nothing. So low right now.

IF Joe would can Coyle and show a different direction on defense, I could have life.

I'm not an expert on college draft prospects and don't pretend to be. But I've felt for a while that we need to draft a stud WR to pair up with MW (because Hartline is lost in this offense), which would not only make MW more productive, but also give us another legit option outside. The players I mentioned are guys who impressed me and who most people feel are strong 1st or 2nd round types. Difference makers. That's what we need.

A meteor takes out Ross, Tannenbaum, Petersen, Phailbin and Coyle in the practice bubble.

Just kidding all you literal types.

Would be a lot more practical to take Flynryan's suggestion and just book 'em on a Malaysian carrier.

A good talented DC. Minimize philbin as much as possible. Hickey doing some solid work. Come out of the early draft w Kevin white, Melvin Gordon or trading down for a sliding Gurley. Then pump talent into the oline and defense. A great off-season and giant crippling negatives like philbin and Ross will be easier to gloss over.

Hiring a good DC and then having Lazor or the new DC take over for Philbin as he is relieved of his duties before the halfway point next season.
