I know that we'll compete with Moore in there ad we will have a lot of exciting plays but he will likely have as many wtf plays as he does wow plays. We can compete with anyone in the league when we are playing at our best but now that we have lost our captain we really don't have what it takes to beat the best teams. I don't know that Peyton could change that or that he's even in game shape but if anyone could come in and run Gase's offense at a high level it would be him. At the very least it would be fun to watch and an awesome storyline.

Get well soon Ryan!

We can flank him out wide and scare the defense, and get Parker singled up :)

Cheesy commercials with better ingredients.

Remember, in 2011 we were 0-7 when Henne's shoulder grenaded.

Moore came in and we went 6-3.

I expect decent play from Moore. I doubt he'll be hoisting the Lombardi trophy in a couple months, but he will get us to 9-7, maybe 10-6.

In 40 years of loving the Dolphins, I cannot recall our team facing such adversity (officiating, injuries).

From what we say out of Manning last year Moore might be better.

I never thought these words will come out of my mouth. But I rather have Matt Moore than Peyton Manning

He wasn't terrible, but he went 6-6 (not 6-3), and played the majority of the game Henne got injured and we lost that too.

Here's my thought.

If Moore can complete 60% of his passes, have a 2 : 1 TD : INT ratio and throw for about 200 yards per game the way he did in 2011 then we'll go 10-6 and make the playoffs.

2011 was an eternity ago in football years and none of us have any freakin idea what Moore is capable of at this point.
Here's to hoping that he comes in and rips up the AFC east opposition over the next 3 weeks.

Dream scenario: Peyton signs tomorrow and is ready Christmas eve @ Buffalo

Now that's a gift

At first I got excited thinking about it. Then I realized that Manning probably couldn't even feel the pen in his hand to sign a contract with us. He's an NFL legend, and the most incredible QB I've seen in his prime, but he retired cause he physically could not play anymore. If he could, he'd still be out there.

Manning arm is a huge liability. Would never happen. With our D giving up points like we do we'd lose the rest of our games.

Unfortunately, Matt Moore is the best option available for the Dolphins. The defense is a work in progress. The offense is still on the mend, and the loss of Ryan Tannehill is a set back you can't heal just by adding a proven QB at the last second. Moore will give Miami its best shot at continuing the success, but unfortunately this halts the development of the offense, which was still working on the basics. Today, we got a good look at them finally executing those pick plays. We were bound to see, maybe, a new wrinkle or two from Gase, but now that Tannehill is out for the year that's questionable. I'd like to think that inserting Moore won't impact the short and intermediate game as much, but it's going to impact the running game.

Anyone know if Pouncey plans to play another down this year, or did he already set sail for Bermuda for Christmas?

Moore really isn't going to impact the running game. Ajayi hasn't had space to run for weeks, partially because of Pouncey and other linemen being out, and mostly because teams are refusing to let Ajayi beat them and stacking up against the run, putting the game on Tannehill to win. And Tannehill has made them pay for that, but it still hasn't changed the Ajayi-first defense we've been seeing.

I actually feel like Moore can make plays downfield if they are there to make, I'm worried about the consistency of the short and intermediate routes which are thrown into tighter windows and need better timing. Tannehill was very good throwing downfield this year but traditionally that was a skill Moore was better at. He can throw a ball up for Parker just like he did for Marshall, and if a receiver gets behind the defense he throws a very catchable, accurate pass.
