So What's the Deal with Kearse?

Was he claimed by the Panthers or is he on our practice squad or none of the above?
 
Just to clear any confusion, NT Frank Kearse thought he was going to Carolina but instead said he will be staying in Miami on the prac squad

From Ben Volin's Twitter account. Very weird but I'm glad he is on our practice squad. Good developmental inside guy.

There is also a mention out there that while Kearse was not claimed, he was going to meet with the Panthers today on a free agent visit. He isn't on out PS just yet.
 
oh come on miami...stop dicking around and bring this kid back...wake up

Just going by what Ben said. He obviously has his cell and called him to confirm. Until I read it on Miamidolphins.com or he is seen at practice I'll stand by and wait. There wasn't practice today so we will see tomorrow.
 
how does a guy make your initial 53 get released but be p squad eligible and not get picked up on your p squad??? whats the rationale behind that....your good enough to make my roster but your not good enough to make my p squad...thats what it looks like

I have no idea as well. The whole situation baffles me. I can only assume Miami thought he was claimed and moved on and then realized he wasn't and offered a PS contract OR Carolina offered a bigger PS contract. You can offer a certain percent higher than the standard weekly contract. See DT Darryl Richard of NE two years back.
 
This morning it was stated that Kearse will sign as a member of the Dolphins practice squad. Haven't heard anything else. He did tell Volin that he was not going to Carolina.
 
He's staying in Miami. Really wanted to see him on the 53 but he'll develop great with this defense and work his way onto the 53. Glad you're still here Big Country!
