Miami obviously wanted Manning. But do they really want and think Flynn is a starting caliber QB? Flynn has the most upside of the QBs Miami is looking at; Garrard, Smith and Flynn. It's confusing at this point to what their thought process is. Flynn would have already been signed if they thought he could be a great QB in the NFL. Looks like Tannehill is a better fit in their eyes... Unless they have another QB in mind. I just don't see the upgrade over Moore with Smith or Garrard. What a cluster ****!

They are waiting for Flynn to accept their offer. He may want more money than they are offering.

The other guys are depth or somebody to compete with Moore and the rookie we draft in camp.

Yep, this. It's really NOT that simple for several reasons.

The Dolphins only have so much Cap space, so they have to be frugal in their offers.
It is still just a business, so to be fair to Flynn, he has to look at all his opportunities, not just perhaps where he would like to go (I have to believe he would like to be rejoined with Philbin)
With any player there is risk, especially if he only has 1 start under his belt. Once again, even with his familiarity, Philbin can't just throw TONS of money at the kid.

For the record, exactly why is Tannehill the other best option? Are you just regurgitating something that Volin or the maladroit ARm-AND-OH has written? Sure Sherman knows him. He also put him at WR instead of QB for a reason.
Hasn't anybody but me seen this kid (Tannehill) play QB? He really really is not a very good QB....at all.....

I really like Weeden, but people think he's too old.

Im definately in that crowd but would be ok with weeden in 4th thats when you take a chance on a guy like that maybe our 3rd at worst. To draft him in second would be tantamount to idiocy

I wouldn't draft him in the 2nd either. I'd prefer a WR in the 2nd round.

I haven't seen much of Tannehill to be honest. But he is the 3rd rated qb in the draft and linked to the phins. Shurman could have convinced everyone he's the real deal. My point is when you want a player, you don't let them visit other teams. That doesn't make since.

Well, that's what puzzles the hell out of me. I saw quite a bit of Tannehill this year, and I honestly have zero idea why he is climbing boards like he is...or at least, that's what the media claims.

Sherman knows him, but the fact is, he was at A&M as QB, but Sherman moved him to WR....yet somehow, people are just certain that Sherman want him to be our QB.

Well, the media shoves all kind of crap down our throats.

The scary thing about that is there is no guarantee that we will be able to draft Tannenhill, Cleveland
Could take him, or even someone else

Right, but its up to us to either just eat it up, or research it.

Tannehill couldn't beat out either Stephen McGee OR Jerrod Johnson..yeah, I know two SERIOUS QB's (/sarcasm), so Sherman did the obvious...moved him to another position.
He played QB last year almost by default...cause A&M had nobody else. He was FAR from spectacular last season, as were the Aggies as a whole....why in the hell he is being mentioned as a first rounder much less a top 10 pick is completely and totally beyond me. I honestly have zero idea why.
