I want you to come and eat your crow. You had better NOT be starting threads to praise this guy...
All I can say from last night is that Henne played his *** off. He did NOT stare down his receivers, he checked down when nothing was open down field and my oh my he hit a PERFECT throw to TG over his shoulder with 3 count them 1..2..3 guys trailing him.
Sure it just one game but last night showed me that Henne, after only making his 2nd start, has potentially what it takes to be THE guy in Miami. He stayed in the pocket for most of the game except on designed roll out plays and he even took a pop when delivering that ball to Camarillo (which by the way was thrown PERFECTLY) when the Jets brought the house. That play set up the eventual winning score.
Also you have to take into account he was playing a top NFL defense and on Monday night in front of the world. No easy feat and he passed with flying colors.
So take your funky robot mechanics crap as well as your Henne stares down his wideouts and you know what you can do with it. I told you to give the guy a chance. I have a been a huge Michigan fan and have been able to watch this guy come up through college football and know he has what it takes to be at MINIMUM a serviceable qb in the league. Nobody is saying he is the next Marino or even the next pro-bowl caliber qb. However let the guy practice with the first team and this is the end result.
It may be too early to tell but personally I can tell you that what I saw last night had the recipe to be something special for this kid. The media was against him, some of his OWN fans were against him, we traded for another qb (it was needed though due to the injury but still he had to feel the pressure of an young ex starting qb) and the dude still delivered in the biggest game of his young career. Will there be bumps along the way? Yes. Will he maybe make a bad decision that loses us a game or two. Possibly. However so did Flacco and so has Matt Ryan...
