Tannehill's better than anything the Dolphins have had since Marino with the exception of Pennington. But he doesn't seem to be a guy who rises to the occasion and takes his team with him.
Honestly, I think he's a guy who could be pretty good with the right coaching staff and organization putting talent around him. Not great, but solid. This was just a recipe for a letdown from the very start: Organization want's to fire up the fan base by drafting a QB high, so they reach for RT, bring in his college coach who is friends with the Dolphins new coach ... I said back then I thought that was misguided, because you are reaching for a guy for a particular system, and if any part of that system fails, there's a high likelihood the whole thing falls apart. You lose one guy and you might lose all of them and have to start over. Get the best people, not the ones you are closest to.
