So which FA linemen are left that could possibly compete to start at guard?

unless Mathis is released, I think we stand put
 
Give Jamil Douglas a real shot. Coach him up...athletic kid...just needs to get tougher.
 
Trade the 2016 5th rounder for Mathis and call it a day. Lord knows we picked enough 5th rounders this year to last half a decade.

Yeah if we keep what we have I'm at least hoping we can bring in some depth during training camp cuts so we're not a complete dumpster fire if Albert goes down again
 
Can we please get a deal done for Evan Mathis? Please?

It's obvious he and Chip Kelly don't like each other and it'd be worth a call to offer a 5 or 6. I have hopes for Jamil Douglas, but he IS a 4th round rookie. What I really don't want to happen is all of the weapons we've loaded up on get minimalized because we still have a glaring weakness at left guard. We have to get a vet here.
 
Barring injury Miami will open the season with Douglas, Turner and Thomas at guard.

As long as Albert is healthy we'll be fine. The line was not a problem until Albert went down. And that was with Pouncey playing out of position
 
Lets do Jake a favor and give him one last shot. Very little to lose...and has G/T flexibility which we need.

I'd rather sign Anthony Collins as our swing than Fox. Same with Ryan Harris. Mike Pollak I would've given a look before Baca and Linkenbach.

For what it's worth I think we're done making moves on the OL until maybe final cuts.
 
I'm more looking at UDFA's. Was Mikes Dieffenbach drafted? I could see him making our team.
