ok, we have seen the HUGE post on john beck being the "obvious" STARTER thread and MANY opinions and thoughts were shared.

but lets face it, there was PLENTY of nonsense posted by both
the beck AND henne camps.

a whole lot of dreaming going on and plenty of short sightedness
to fill a dance hall for the blind!!

and really, the posters on these boards are arm chair joes who
although are rabid fans, they DONT KNOW whats really going on
in an nfl camp.

SO WHO DO WE TURN TO NRA? ARE WE JUST AFLOAT IN A RAGING
NFL SEA WITH NO HOPE IN SITE?

no! we are not. we have people to listen to WHO ACTAULLY KNOW
and they are THE MIAMI DOLPHINS PLAYERS!!

yes, the players. the ones who are there! the ones who know the game
and play with/against beck and henne EVERY DAY!!

so, foget all the hooplah of that "obvious thread" and get the real
scoop from those who count!!

The quarterback battle will not gain true clarity until the preseason games, but several veteran defensive players have expressed surprise with how much Chad Henne has injected himself into the race, outshining John Beck and challenging front-runner Josh McCown, who threw three interceptions Tuesday.

Defensive end Vonnie Holliday said Tuesday that before camp started, he would have been surprised if Henne ended up starting on opening day. And now? ''I wouldn't be that surprised,'' he said. ``I like the way the guy carries himself. He's not intimidated.''

Henne has worked extensively with the first team for three consecutive practices and has exceeded expectations, safety Yeremiah Bell said. ''He has a chance to win this job,'' Bell added. ``You can't overlook that he's very impressive.......

All of these posts on who's the starting QB are almost as exhausting as ALL the Bret Farve coverage. Let's just let them play it out, I have faith in Sprano and company to make the best decision for the team
 
What are the players going to say when asked about Henne? The guy is a rookie? He wont pan out? He is making rookie mistakes? No! They are going to say how great he is and how he is going to develop into a great player. Great pickup Bill!! A couple of adaboy's latter and Henne is the man? I don't care who starts as long as it is the best guy. Your post suggests that folks here are in one camp or another and you give yourself a pat on the back for what looks like the very thing you are calling out. I'm confused? :err:
 
i ABSOLUTELY agree SNAKE!

but, my yawning over all the beck or henne posts is the
fact that when i go and read them, they are FULL of
post by people who just cant get over there guy isnt doing
as well as they think or they completely turn around the
reports in there players favor or they just havnt been reading
the reports at all.

me? i have NEVER cared what the back of the jersey said, my
only hope has been that one actually surfaces with some REAL
talent and that is the guy they put on the field.

and as for as i have read, HENNE is the guy who has been consistant
and made the most plays all camp. he has played with the starters the
most.

and now the DOLPHINS PLAYERS are saying just that and are actually
RAVING about henne and wont be suprised if he was the starter.

now, if it was BECK who was favored in the reports and by the players,
i would be JUST AS THRILLED! but, its NOT the case. and hasnt been!

it was my hope that this post, having the opnions from the guys who play with
them would straighten some of the poster thoughts out, thats all.

all the false posts about this or that guy was doing is what i have been tired of.

did you not find the players comments helpfull or insightfull at all SNAKE?

not a flame, just a question.

the subject wasnt JUST about henne. it was about the qb play
in general. they could have easily said beck, or mccown, but
they didnt.

they raved about HENNE, and they didnt have to.

so you think that all those guys got in a room and said "hey! we
better say nothing but raving things about henne if asked"?

you think the coaches told them to do that?

that just doesnt hold any water. and WHY have NONE of them
ever said a thing, good or bad, about the other two qb's?

again, i dont care what the name on the jersey is and i cant
figure out why so many are so IN FLAME over one guy or the
other [unless it is some be true to your school nonsense].

and its NOT just "one pat on the back" for henne, there has
been MANY over ota's and training camp. thats the point!!

seems like this would be good news for most dolphins fans.

I haven'e heard any other quotes attributed to players about McCown or Beck, but I don't know if that just means the media are not asking about them. At this point, nobody would shock me (Quincy Carter excluded. WTF was that!) It seems like Henne is gaining ground, or neither Beck or McCown have stepped up. Either way the preseaon will determine alot.
 
I just hope someone steps up and becomes the QB we've needed since Marino left.

i agree!!

i mean, if the finz are DEAD SET on not starting a rookie at the
start of the season then PENNINGTON would be the guy i would
want over mccown.

86.1 lifetime nfl rated qb who throws a great deep ball and can read
a nfl defense over a guy who has been run off every nfl team he has been
on is a no brainer.

plus, pennington will be HUNGRY to get back at the ny jerks! and, he knows
there offense and what they are going to be doing this year. sign him up
and IMEDIATELY and CUT MCCOWN!!

PROBLEM IS.........

if the jets release him, he is a FREE AGENT and wont be subject to the
waiver process. he will be able to sign where he wants.

so, if the jets think there is ANY chance he wants the dolphins, or they want him,
the jets will unload him today before 4:00 pm to a team outside the division for
a 7th round pic or srub player.

so, for all those who want him here, lets hope the jets cut him.
 
People will pay a lot of attention to who ever starts saturdays preseason game, but that wont mean crap! I know their are McCown fans, Beck fans, and Henne fans but when you go 1-15 experience, already being with the team, and being a rookie parcells drafted wont mean crap either because all parcells, ireland, and sporano want is a QB that can get the job done and the right QB wont be picked until training camp and preseason is over so they can look at OTA'S, mini camp, traing camp, and preseason to make the right choice. The starter can be Beck, McCown, or Henne
 
Funny you should mention 1st string playing, since Beck has been with the 1st string players, or starting practice with them, just about all week. You talk about Henne stringing together 3 practices with the 1's, let's see the documentation.

What's more telling, and omitted by yourself and others, is that Beck started with the ones today AND yesterday.....this close to the game.

Today: Beck up first
Last night: McCown starts with 1's
Yesterday morning: Beck with 1's to start.

What do we really know from this??? Nothing. It's all speculation.
