So Who Starts At CB?

Who Starts At CB Week 1 Opposite Will Allen

So who do you guys think starts at CB opposite Will Allen week 1? I'm Guessing the popular choice is going to be Vontae Davis. Call me crazy though but I still don't rule out Jason Allen. Wouldn't it be a fairy tail world if Davis, Smith and Allen all turned out to be ballers? lol
 
I could be wrong but I trhink the FO views Davis as the #1 corner. i think its between Smith and Allen to fight it out for the #3.....any way it pans out we turn out biggest weakness into what should be a huge strength.
 
Ideally it will be Vontae, but because of his youth (he's only 20) I can see them being very careful with him, same with Smith because of Smith's inexperience.

I will say this about Vontae, people will either love or hate his attitude. He's ****y, but going up against the WRs we do, you need that.
 
I'd say it's Davis's job to lose at this point. Smith is still kind of raw and I doubt they'd thrust him into a starting job unless he really impresses in camp and the pre-season. I think this regime is just about ready to cut ties with Jason Allen, so if he even makes the team I don't seem him starting. Eric Green just isn't very good.
 
If smith is as good as they say, I believe he will be brought in to deal with the likes of Mortals such as T.O. and Moss, meaning, goodbye W. Allen.

Many people did not expect Langford to start ahead of Merling so it can happen.
 
we have the potential to have one of the best DB's in the league. Allen, Davis, Smith, Wilson, Bell. God does that sound good.
 
I love how smith matches up with those guys. If he could play this year it would be huge, if not though, 2010 is looking good.

I think the biggest difference there is Langford played that position in college while Merling was learning a new position. Smith has played CB for 2 years.

Pat White will start at CB as well as OLB.

Enough said.
 
As long as its not Green I dont care to much. I hope a young Vonte can come in and play right away
 
Well I think Vontae Davis will start opposite Will Allen and hopefully Sean Smith will be the nickel back this year. Then have Davis and Smith your starters in 2010 if Allen leaves thru free agency. If Davis and Smith pan out, you have your starting cornerback tandem for the next decade just like Madison and Surtain were.
