No, but if I said be there by 8 pm at the latest, and its already 7:30, I am going to start feeling uneasy.why all the talk and the worry about a holdout?
If someone is supposed to be at your house by 8pm, are you sitting there at 12 noon wondering where they are and saying they better not be late???
if they aren't signed on Friday.....then we have something to talk about. Before that, people are just being paranoid.

My questions are "has there been any news positive or negative on them signing?" and "Is this normal?"
Usually there's some news and I haven't heard anything either way. It makes me a bit concerned, but if there was going to be a hold out it seems that we'd know that by now, no?

Special Master (we’d love to have that title) Stephen Burbank has ruled in favor of the NFL Players Association in connection with a fairly complex dispute regarding the interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Burbank found that fully-guaranteed salaries in uncapped years (currently, 2010 and beyond) will not be allocated to the rookie’s first-year or second-year salary for purposes of the rookie pool or the rule that limits growth to 25 percent of the first year cap number.
The ruling means that contracts for 2008 rookies will be able to use guaranteed salaries in 2010 and beyond as insurance against any failure to achieve the so-called “log” bonus, which is based on achieving minimum playing time.
It also means that players who signed contracts before the resolution of the issue might not be as protected as they would have been if they had waited. If a player can’t get on the field long enough to meet the trigger for the playing-time incentive and if the team decides to cut him due to skill (or, more accurately, lack thereof), he won’t get any guaranteed money in 2010 or 2011.
Hopefully, the league and the union will try to work out a way to give these players added protection after the fact.
There is some kind of action going on between the league and the player's association that may affect some of the signings. I don't remember what the issue is, but I do know I read about it from one of the media sources in Miami.Lee2000
With the owners 'opt-out' it means there's no 'cap' in 2010. Means teams that "can" teams will spend thru the roof; the "can'ts" will be in deep kimchi. Plus with NFLPA dissension within their directorate, contracts are being negotiated very slowly, partly because players/agents are unhappy with Gene Upshaw; and partly because of fears of a coming 'work stoppage' in '10.
