I can't believe that these words are coming out of me. We didn't lose this game because of the Patriots or the Refs. Our personnel is just not good enough.

1. We don't have a legitimate receiver.
2. We don't have a legitimate linebacker or really any legitimate consistent pass rush.

These two items are due to a lack of talent.

3. Henne looks good in spots but he takes way too many sacks and may never have all the goods you want and need in a quarterback. Time will tell.

The sobering part is that the Pats have like 9,000 picks already to get better because the rest of the league has no clue.

No doubt we are missing the WR but the pass rush solution is simple. More Cameron Wake. He should be inserted in passing downs because he is getting more pressure then Porter.

We need to draft JT's replacement because he has probably got one year left in him.

I think the better assumption is that we are lacking in key area's and many of our guys drafted to be "core" players are too inexperienced. That is what happens though when your head coaching position is a revolving door over the past 10 years.

As far as Henne's goes, what do you want him to do? I mean he could just be throwing it up and making those dumb rookie mistakes and put us out of the game by the end of the first quarter. Henne is playing his *** off IMO for pretty much a rookie with absolutely ZERO help at the Wr position. If it wasn't for Bess hands, we should just run the ball on every play. If only bess was taller and faster....

Made the same point when we lost to the saints. In that game we kept a far superior team in the game and I knew they would eventually catch up since we couldn't deliver a knock out blow. This game was close and it tells you how close we are to being a serious threat, but we do need some play makers on both sides of the ball. Our team is all around solid but that doesn't win the close games, it just keeps you in them.

I would like for Joey Porter to show up and make a play. That would help. Bess shouldn't get a free pass anymore, he has dropped as many balls as Ginn.

Do you really want JT back next year? I haven't examined his contract but the guy is worth backup money. Sure he took a fumble to the house but the ball all but bounced into his hands. JT is completely LOST as an OLB. He was forced into the position and if he was coming out of college, he wouldn't even make the team as an OLB. Simply put, he sucks at OLB. Porter is even worse because he won't shut up.

Actually JT is on a 1yr deal for a little over a million. Yes I want him back he is a leader! We don't have many of those, he has also had good games this year. I would like to see them stack Taylor/Wake or Wake/Porter on the same side on obvious passing downs.

Considering we had the least talented team in the NFL two years ago, it shouldn't be surprising that we don't have the best personnel in the league.

That said, we do have some promising young talent. You can't expect to strike gold with every single draft pick.

He leads the team in sacks with 5 and FF with 2. He is getting more pressure consistently than anyone and he is on a low scale 1 year deal.

What does he actually do as the "leader"? He is too much of a liability in pass protection and rarely does anything to stop the run. He sucks as an OLB. Football is a business first and we need to stop thinking we "owe" him something. Taylor wouldn't be starting at OLB for ANY team in the NFL right now. Why should he be for us.

BTW, he isn't a leader. He couldn't be the locker room leader (ala ray lewis, etc) when we were in our defensive hay-day in 2002ish. Neither was madison, surtain, thomas, marion, etc.

I like JT and always have, however when he is becoming a liability, either in preventing future player development or as a player on the field, he needs to go IMO.

He's a superstar, I'm told. and a team leader, I'm told. I would like him to show up to play once this season as well.
