La Gazetta dello Sport

Totti would be a huge loss but with the young studs Italy has it could help the next generation and make them favourites for WC 2010.
You mentioned some good ones (especially Gilardino!) but 2 other young stallions are Daniele De Rossi and Luca Toni.

Toni is leading serie A with 18 goals

:nono: I was just reporting news...

And all you Italian Fans have said that you will beat US and all this...please. I think Italy will not make it out of the Knock Out stage, and that the US will beat them in the game. I just see it happening. Not favoring, just what I think. Italy has always had the pieces, but they lack the scoring edge/creativity.

I'm not going to go as far as saying the Italians will be knocked out that early, but I do not see them making the semis.

As much as I'd love to beat Italy in group play, I don't see it happening. I see a very possible draw happening though.

I can see a 1-0, or 2-1 victory for the US...

I could see a 1-0 game for the U.S if they lull them to sleep, but the US will be very hard pressed to knock in 2 goals against that defense and world class keeper.
Then again, the W.C is always full of surprises...
