Looks like he could be a big time DT for years to come.....yesterday he was destroying blockers and blowing up plays in the backfield.. he looks like a young J.Ferguson...

We need to keep this guy in Miami for a long time because these type of players are VERY hard to find!!!

I heard during the off season that Soliai has really accepted being under Ferguson's wing and learning the position, and getting a lot better at it.. I heard his attitude has skyrocketed this past off season and that he was playing like a different player in training camp.

It would be huge for us in the draft if Soliai keeps developing and we don't need to draft a NT.. He was killing Jets O-linemen yesterday.

Look how he destroyed a Pro bowl center (Nick Mangold) yesterday.

I love it !!!

I don't think I can put a percentage value on how much I agree with you on this one. I was really stressing about the NT position coming into this season. I automatically assumed we would have to pursue Suh, or Cody in the draft, but that they wouldn't be available for us because we have other more pressing positions to fill. If he continues to play this well I'll be extremely happy.

I can't express enough how important it would be to our draft if Soliai continues his play and develops further.

Remember last year when we all said how we needed to draft a center before we got Jake Grove ? We were all talking about the need to draft Alex Mack or Eric Wood, instead of drafting Vontae Davis.

Well it's the same for Soliai and the NT situation.. If he continues his great development curve lately, it really REALLY benefits us in the draft as we can concentrate on linebackers and other areas of need.

If Soliai keeps it up, our defensive line is set for years.. And they are all young and will get better (Soliai, Starks, Langford, Merling, McDaniel, Dotson) !!!

Talented Youth with good depth on the D-line is a great great thing to have. Now we just need some young talented LB's who can really get after it and our front seven will be a FORCE for years to come !!

It reminded me of the play he made in the playoff game against Balt where he exploded through the line and ripped the ball from the running backs hands for a Dolphin fumble recovery (unfortunately we only got a field goal out of it though). Anyone have a clip of that? Very similar play.

Remember this ?

Of all those samoan dolphins, Paul Soliai is the only one left "standing"

I agree 100%. He is definitely turning into a force to be reckoned with. It seemed like he was getting penetration on almost every play. I just hope he can keep his weight and attitude in check.

Am I the only one that noticed JT blasted himself in the head with the ball when he threw it against the wall? LOL I bet he felt stupid for a 10th of a second then remembered he just took a fumble back to the house on the JETS.

The play yesterday was more impressive.. Because on that play last year he wasn't blocked by anybody and came through clean..

On the play yesterday he threw their much heralded center Nick Mangold aside like a little rag doll, and then treated their rookie running back like his little b*tch.

Soliai owned yesterday.

Didn't he get married. Seems like he credited his wife in part for his new found maturity.

GreyBoy you hit the nail on the head and I was also worried about the NT in the draft. If Soliai continues on this path I still say take a NT later in the draft or sign one off waivers to develop but this is HUGE for the 3-4 and what the Dolphins are trying to accomplish.

If he is playing at the next level heading into next season so many more positions fall into place in next years draft. The free agent class and draft class is thin at 3-4 type NT's so addressing the problem would be hard without a trade. As of now it looks like he is stepping it up and I hope it only gets better.
