Did anyone else pay attention to Paul Soliai's great push up the middle when he was in on Sunday? I looked back at the TiVoed game and noticed Paul Soliai on quite a number of plays providing good push and caving down the middle on Sunday.

It was pretty encouraging to see. No wonder Sparano is so patient with him. It would be awesome if NT was more of a later in the draft priority this offseason with Soliai showing promise like that.

Also, I wonder if MIA will begin to rotate Al Johnson into that interior OL rotation. For the most part, Alleman looked good out there, barring that second play of the game where he missed that blocked that almost got Pennington sacked.

But I didn't care too much for the 4 or 5 missed blocks by Frye. He missed his man too many times. Not to mention he got a penalty too. Hopefully, its just first game's jitters. But just wondering if Johnson gets worked into that rotation. I know that he is coming off an injury and all...

I noticed him too, it would be awesome if he started to come on late this year and be close to the type of player Wilfork is for the Pats.

he played really well but has to show some consistency. i love his size/strength/speed combo but needs major work on his technique.

He had a great cameo on that botched snap. He tossed the Center to the side like a rag doll and went after the ball. I wish he played with that kind of urgency more often. It's just a mentality thing. The difference on that play was, he saw the ball come out, he knew he had to toss the Center aside so he could go try and get it, so that's what he did. If the ball doesn't come loose like that, I bet he just locks his arms on the Center and stays in a battle for 2 seconds or so until the QB gets rid of the ball.

I want to see him do things like that consistently. He needs to continue getting that push off the line on all downs he plays.

I hope the "light " comes on for him soon, otherwise he'll be somewhere else. He seems to have some of what it takes, and if he will apply himself he can make lots more money, right here.

He has the same problem Randy starks seemed to of had before this year i like the fire i see starks playing with and i hope Paul gets that going for him.

yeah this D line rotation could be a great unit for years to come. we have so much talent its ridiculous.

Soliai is listed at 355 but I read somewhere that he weighs around 335, so he is not that heavy. The perfect size at 6'4" 335 pounds. He has the talent to become a great player in my opinion, if he can just mature and apply himself.

I agree. Keep in mind that Ferguson was a seventh round pick, so it's not like a lot was expected from him at first while he developed.

I've posted here and elsewhere about SOLIAI more than once. His problem has NEVER been about talent and ability. It has always been about discipline and focus, even in college. When he came to camp this season, he went to work in the Weights Room. He took off about 30 lbs of blubber, and added about 25 lbs of steel. And he concentrated on learning the NFL POSITION OF NT, under the tutelage of some good Coaches and one Mr. J FERGUSON. Everybody noticed, including Coach SPARANO and Coach PARCELLS.

Maturity continues to be a problem for him, but he must be making some progress: after all, look what he did to elevate his game. I just hope the suspensions cease, because he has too much to show for his efforts to squander it that way. He keeps getting better, and better, and better. You can see that everyone's rooting for him. I hope he becomes a very solid NFL NT. It looks like he can do it. One thing's for sure already: SOLIAI's NOT just "the fat kid" anymore.

What exactly were the reasons for his suspensions...? Were they even a re-occurence...? Did he swipe an extra donut at lunch...? What were the infractions that cost him what suiting up 2 games...
