If I can offer a piece of advice to Mr. Ross if he wants to be winner take a page
out of Joe Robbie's book and trade for Bill Belicheck.

Trade away 2-3 #1s if needed ofcourse those ones start in '13,but belicheck is a master
At menipulating the draft.

Offer belicheck part ownership and any amount of money and don't worry about HC for another 10 years._

I think the best way to solve the coaching problem for good would be to find a superstar, genius college coach and offer him a ridiculous amount of money to come here. There's no way that coach couldn't succeed here and bolt back to college after two years.

Here's how you solve the head coach issue for good.......hire a real GM like Ted Thompson from Green Bay. End of story.

The guy has picked one good coach in his NFL career. He's done a good job with players, but that's different.

ya, the pats will just trade away belicheck, no problem

Well it wasn't likely Don Shula was leaving Baltimore or Jon gruden Oakland
The point here is if belicheck had an offer he found overwhelming he might take it.

Actually, it was likely that Gruden would leave Oakland. Al Davis wasn't that much of a fan and didn't want to extend Gruden's contract which was going to expire in a year. And Al Davis is also one of the biggest nutcases ever in pro sports (which is saying something).

Drawing a parallel between something that happened in an organization like Oakland and an organization like New England is foolish.

I dunno, it took that Belichick guy seven years and five losing seasons to finally reach a Superbowl.

Give a halfway decent head coach good players, and he becomes a good coach. Was Mike Tomlin born a great head coach, or did he become the head coach of a team that consistently finds ways to get/develop good players? Is Lovie Smith a great coach? Was Barry Switzer a great coach? Is John Harbaugh a great head coach? He was coaching special teams before going to the Ravens. But, he has Ozzie Newsome filling out his roster every year.

Bottom line, every head coach needs players. Sparano looked like a good coach when he had Chad Pennington at QB for a full season.

This franchise hasn't had a good GM in ages. When the GM is constantly picking the wrong players, the coach is coaching with one had tied behind his back.

I am not arguing that Sparano is a good head coach. I just think acquiring players is more difficult than finding a good head coach.

To find a good head coach you must be committed to winning. I do not think Ross is there yet. You will not get a good coach (notice I did not say great) to come in without ownership commitment.
