Some Coaching Updates from the Team

Still don't like the co OC thing. All co in any organization did not ends well.

It's been working in Clemson

The 2018 Rams and 2019 Niners both made the Super Bowl with Co-Coordinators

In 2017 and 2018 when Tua was at Alabama, they had 2 different co-offensive coordinator setups with Brian Daboll and Mike Locksley, and
then Locksley and Josh Gattis

My assumption is the gameplan will be pretty pre-determined. Godsey and Frye will probably collab to mark the pass plays they like in certain situations and Studds will do the same with run plays. One of them will call the majority of the plays (Godsey has experience but Studds was the backup plan last year). The other will have duties like special situations, red zone, etc. Allows us more eyes to effectively make a gameplan and have a support system around Tua.

My concern is they are now going to have their third offensive system in the past three years. Eventually Flores has to settle on what type of offense he wants to run and allow the players time to settle into playing in that system. Changing offensive coordinators every year just doesn’t appear to be the best way to develop all the young players they have on offense.

offensive system stays the same, with terminology but all 3 coordinators have in put. Yes, I said 3, Frye used Alabama system in college last year and will have a major impact

Exactly what offensive system stays the same? Because even Gailey admitted that he called a different offense for Fitzpatrick than he did for Tua. Also the offensive calls when Tua was the QB seemed really vanilla and hopefully that won’t be the offense they will use next season.

I had no problem with Gailey leaving because I never saw him as a good fit with Tua. In fact I would have been much happier with Tua running the offense they had when they had O,Shea. Hopefully the (3) offensive play callers next season will be more creative than Gailey was and they will actually allow Tua to move around in the pocket instead of forcing him to sit in the pocket and get drilled by the defense.

I think he meant the terminology won't change?

I know many don't like the idea, though I've yet to hear a valid (from either a philosophical, or mechanical standpoint) reason why. I can see the benifit of having the pass guy in the booth, and the run guy on the sideline. I can also see where it would be of value for in game adjustments, with one guy concentrating primarily on line play, and the other on back end of the defense.

It is really just a matter of titles anyway. Flo will have their roles defined.
