Dolphins | Saban encouraged by Roth's progress
Wed, 2 Aug 2006 16:13:55 -0700
During his press conference, Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban said he is encouraged by DL Matt Roth progress. "Matt is playing a lot better and has made a lot of improvement. He's gotten a little bigger. He's gotten a little stronger. He still has his quickness in pass rush. There are certainly things that he can improve on, but his knowledge of the system, his ability to execute on a consistent basis is a lot better. He's continued to make improvement, and we're encouraged by that," said Saban.

Dolphins | Z. Thomas more comfortable in team's system
Wed, 2 Aug 2006 16:13:42 -0700
MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins LB Zach Thomas is more comfortable in the team's defensive system than he was during the 2005 season. Last year, Thomas had to learn a new defensive scheme for the first time in 10 years. "I'm excited because I know things this year more than I knew last year. The more experience you have in a defense, the better you can be and the more plays you can make. You might not give up as many big plays like we did last year and put yourself in better positions. That's the biggest key. I think my alignment last year was not as good because we were putting everything in. Now I'm learning how to get aligned right in certain formations. It's just the little things that can win games for you, not just for me but for everybody," said Thomas.

:sidelol:

I missed that Saban quote. Gotta love that man. Unless you want to know about injures to our team of course. Screw the press though.

I know it is a big thing to say, but if Saban stays with the Fins for 10 years or so, he is going to eclipse anything that the Don did for us---and that is saying something!!

:jimmyjames: WOW .....You caught my attention....first thought is, you don't eclipse the Don.. maybe join his company, but ECLIPSE. Tell you what, if Saban can go undefeated twice...then he will have eclipsed the Dons accomplishments...I guess anythings possible.

P.S. good luck on that
