(1) Kiwaukee Thomas

He is fast and VERY aggressive out there. IMO he was our best corner and played a fine game. He looks good, and with Sam coming back, our CB situation is looking slightly better if he can play as well as he did yesterday.

(2) Norman LeJeune

For a guy that was signed this week, he played very well on ST. I noticed him constantly around the ball. On ST I also LOVE the attitude that Jason Glenn brings to the unit. He seems like the leader, along with Gilmore. Good job.

(3) Rex Hadnot

Made some fantastic blocks on pitches to the outside to Ronnie. Nice game for Mr. Hadnot.

Other solid contributors that may go unnoticed:

Lorenzo Diamond (bad drop, but he can block)
Travares Tillman (great game)
Yeremiah Bell

Some role players really impressed me yesterday. To be honest, I hardly noticed JT, Zach or Schulters, who have been our best defensive players all year. This is no knock on them- I think its a good thing. We need contributions from everyone and that is whats going to keep this defense from getting run down. Even Donnie Spragan and Channing IMO played their best games of the season.

Well done to these guys and to Nick (who brought most of them in)

IMO the best game Vonnie played all season. He was amazing, one of the big reasons for the safty.

Yes- I forgot Vonnie just because I consider him a pretty good veteran player/starter on this team, not a role player like these guys. My point is that our role players had a fine game and thats important.

Quiet Zach - Yeah, I noticed that too. Hell, he may have had 12 tackles (haven't looked up the stats), but it just seemed like a quiet day because he didn't have his usual 20+. I didn't hear his name called a lot yesterday, though.

Reggie did get beat in the first quarter. Lejuene played very well, got no credit for any tackles on air, but he was always around the ball. Why aren't we talking about Ricky. Everyone said he was a bust, no heart, he was done, etc, he ran like a top 5 back in the league, and so did Ronnie. Remember, we don't have a passing game like Edge does, LT does (LT is LT), Shaun Alexander. We don't have the same Offensive line either. These two backs deserve all of the credit though the "Sun-Sentinal" gave our running game a B, and our passing game and A, figure that one out.

I think he was drawing a lot of double teams/extra attention....

Holliday and Zgonina played lights out! Zgonina should of had 2 sacks but 1 was given to Traylor.

LeJeune, K. Thomas and Tillman were the biggest pleasant surprises. I would say Howard, but the guy is paid decent money to be at least a serviceable starter. Its about time he starts playing like one, and if he can continue, combine that with the solid play of KThomas and the return of Sam, not to mention Travis Daniels, and all of a sudden we are looking slightly better in the secondary. Travares Tillman looked very comfortable as well.

I think a big part of the fact that the secondary played better was because Miami got a lot of pressure on the quarterback.

Not everyone. Great to hear about Kiwaukee Thomas, if that secondary can improve in coverage this D could be very frustrating to play.

I think K.Thomas played well but there were a couple plays where he missed the open tackles which allowed the Saints to keep thier drive alive. I think the entire dline played lights out. I agree that the pressure they provided helped out secondary look good. I think our secondary gets burned quite a bit when the QB has all day to throw the ball. As long as our dline has consistent pressure on the QB, i think our secondary will do ok.

Zach only had 2 tackles. He was constantly double teamed. Crowder got 5 tackles.

Also in part because many time the LBs didnt even need to make a tackle beacuse the D-Line was so destructive they did it all on their own.
