Just rewatched the NFL Network highlights of Saturady's game (on demand what a country) and here are a few things I noticed.

1. On both of Fiedler picks he had plenty of time in the pocket. Had he underthrown Booker he may have had the TD. Since he overthrew him Rolle was the only guy who could get to the ball. On the second INT Randy McMichael and Derrius Thompson were open. Choosing Chanbers on that play was a mistake by Jay. Both of these plays are correctable.

2. On the long run by Chris Brown Jeff Zgoninia was pushed out of the hole (one on one) and Seau shot the wrong gap. Sammy Knight looked as slow as molasses as when Brown ran by him he was way out of the play (out of the camera shot). Sometimes I wonder if playing both Edwards and Freeman at safety for their speed would be better.

3. When Jay was sacked St. Clair was beat one on one.

4. On Minor's 20 yard screen pass Jeno James made a nice block.

5. On both Minor's and Gordon's good runs St. Clair made good blocks.

6. Taylor Whitely played pretty well and even looked pretty quick making the tackle on the first INT by Jay. I didn't notice one play where Whitley was victimized in pass protection.

7. On Feeley's first sack he had plenty of time to throw the ball but couldn't find anybody open. Get rid of it AJ.

8. On AJ's pick Gordon should have recognized the blitz (I know he's been with the team 72 hours) and blocked the blitzer instead of going out for the pass. Had Feeley thrown the ball in instead of out Gordon would have had the reception anyway.

9. On Feeleys last sack McKinney, who played pretty well, was beat one on one.

10. On A. Smith's big run Chester got a hand on him but was blocked. Smith was able to turn the corner on Sammy Knight (which really makes me question his speed) for a big gain.

I only had the 10 minute hightlight reel to go by so my observations were limited. I'm pleased to say most of Miami's negative plays look correctable. Larry Chester looked pretty darn good out there.

We need Bowens back ASAP. I'm encouraged to say my wife has bulging disc's also (although she doesn't weight 325 lbs. LOL) and with some physical therapy is fine. They must not rush him back though even though the D could use him.

I too would like to see Freeman and Edwards as our safeties

I don't think Sammy has ever been known for his speed. We brought him here for his hard hitting and he was a ball hawk when he was in NO.

I sure would like to see some of that hard hitting then.....One play early in this last game and other than that, I don't remember SK-24 de-cleating anyone since he's been here.

Has he even got one INT as a Dolphin?

I agree. I would like to see him lighting recievers up out there. I want the recievers scared to go over the middle like the days of Atwater, and Lott. I was just stating why they brought him here.

I know, and I was stating that he hasn't fulfilled any expectations in all this time....:D

I wonder if it's time to let Bell get in some reps. Maybe the aints were correct in letting him go, because the step he has lost makes him to dang slow, even for Wanny.

Look I like Sammy and I know he makes a ton of tackles for us but getting burnt by Antowain Smith hurts. I mean I can almost stomach Chris Brown but Antowain Smith always reports to camp out of shape and he easily turned the corner on Sammy. Maybe Knight took a bad angle???

Yes - Sammy Knight hasn't proven to be what we thought. Could you imagine this Defense if we would have signed Rodney Harrison?

Also- I'd like to see some of our younger talent get in there for Seau. He really hasn't impressed me much. I know he's a spirited locker room leader, but I think there are guys with more talent on the bench.

Larry Chester looked to be THE MAN. He was awesome on Saturday. Wait 'til Timbo's back. You'll see Zach light it up.

Seau is playing better football then he did his last 2 years in SD. He is in great shape, healthy, and a leader. He is more than you think, and makes a ton of tackles.....and some for loses! Plus, Tony Bua is his replacement right now, and the team loves Bua. 2 more years of grooming Pope by ZT, and Bua by Seau, with Eddie Moore replacing Greenwood, we will have fast, young powerful LB's.

I remember him getting one in the first Buffalo game last year. But then again, what Miami DB DIDN'T pick off Bledsoe last year?

I've always say that Knight was slow. I watched a lot of old tapes and I can prove it....He gets beat often..He has a good vision for the game, maybe we're hoping for interceptions..but my grandma is faster than that..:shakeno:
