Walt Coleman, NFL official and Arkansas native, came to my school to speak today. He told us about the Bills/Pats game and the horrible 4th & 10 "inbounds" call and the PI on the hail mary to set up the Patriots TD, victory, and trip to the playoffs. He laid the blame on the back and sideline judges in both cases...which I guess isn't unreasonable.

then he started talking about the TUCK GAME. He said it was hard to come out after reviewing the play and "Admit I was wrong" Then he preached about that for awhile, never admitting that it was in fact a Brady fumble. Pissed me off pretty good...afterwards I asked him in the NFL paid him commission for calls favoring the Patriots.

He must have thought I was joking because he started to laugh. Didn't even let me get started on some of the BS calls he's made against us this year.
 
No Zebra hunting eh? Shame. Thats what you invite refs over for.

As far as the "Tuck Rule", I believe that this was a good call. The rule was applied correctly IMO. It's a separate issue on whether the rule is good or bad. But, if you accept the rule, then I think it was a good call.

The Howard 4th down call was blatantly wrong. I'm not sure that I know what the other references are (Bills/Pats game, 4th and 10 "in bounds", PI on hail mary?).

That game was in the 1998 regular season. The Pats, with 20-some seconds left, were given a reception and a first down on a fourth and 10 where the receiver caught the ball, got no feet inbounds, and landed 2 yards short of the first down. The next play, the Pats threw a Hail Mary, got a bogus interference call with no time left, and were given the ball on the one - where they scored. Buffalo actually pulled its team off the field in protest during the extra point, and the Pats ran the ball in for a two point conversion with no defense on the field.

Pulling from the fog of my dim memory, but the question was @ NE, whether a Patsy WR had possession of a ball in bounds. The officials couldn't make up their mind, and one of them said "just give it to them", and they did. Pats were behind. In that same drive, there was a hail mary that fell incomplete and a questionable PI against Barf setting up 1st & goal. Pats score. If I recall correctly, this is the game that the coach got so PO'd at the calls, he refused to field the extra-point squad, they went into the locker room, and Patsies went for 2 vs. air. (is all that right?)

Did you ask him if how it felt to not have a soul or how it felt for him to have his head to be actually stuck up as *** or if he was totally blind or legally blind?

I love the referee pitman show.

wow, what`s with the patsies and the refs handing the agame to them?
I don`t recall that game but it looks like you guys got robbed big time

The problem I have with the "Tuck Rule" is that before that game no one has ever heard of it. I know that has happened before, why can't people show where it has been used before?

Earlier that day someone told me an NFL referee was coming to speak to us. I figured it'd be some no name that I'd never seen before, but as I walked into the gym I recognized him as "That f'ing dumb***?!"

The whole time he was talking about not letting people get you down with insults. He showed us a bunch of faxes he got after a Buffalo DJ told his fax and phone number on air. He has to know he's hated nationwide.
