Some opinions of the trade from nfl.com analysts

i dont see where you guys get this "top 5" wide receiver from...he certainly hasnt played like a top 5 receiver since hes been here. He drops the ball ALOT. Brandon Marshall is not on Calvin and Andre Johnson's level. He has the talent to be but lacks the focus and heart those guys play with on the field.
Well he was 2nd in the AFC in receiving yards last season, so he was the BEST AFC Wr who actually played boundary WR. Welker faces a lot of safetys and linebackers in the slot, as well as nickel corners so its not much of a stretch to say Marshall was the best legit WR in the AFC last year, at least in terms of receiving yards. He's definitely a top 10 WR. He had more yards than our current starting WR's COMBINED had. We needed a new starting WR before Marshall got traded now our receiving corp is just laughable. We have a #3 and #4 WR's starting. This trade was stupid any way you look at it.

Makes perfect sense. Use the money saved to sign a back up QB (Flynn) so he can throw to 2 back up WRs. Makes so much sense its almost stupid.

Well look on the bright side, if we sign Manning we'll have a shell of himself man of glass throwing to back up WRs for two years. Unless of course someone breathes on him the wrong way in those 2 years, or he never really heals right to begin with in which case it will be shorter. Its called Dolphins football baby!!!!!!

You guys are overvaluing Marshall...he was a wifebeating punk...the only reason we got (2) thirds was because of the Cutler connection.
No one was going to pay for him.
We overpaid for him, when we got him..

a 50% healthy Manning is probably still better than Flynn.

And you know this how? You've spoken with every GM in the league to confirm this?

You dont have to worry about Manning coming to the Dolphins. If he had any questions about the Dolphins being stupid that just got answered. He's not going to come to Miami so he can throw to Davone ****ing Bess and Brian ****ing Hartline. Not gonna happen brotha. We just lost one of the few reasons he'd want to go to Miami. We now have the worst supporting cast in the NFL for a QB. A ****ty o line that gave up a ton of sacks and no playmakers to throw to. Bush is the only player you could even argue is a playmaker.

Idk what to think now that its being said were in contract talks with Flynn. Like 25-30 mins ago i thought this was part of a bigger plan to acquire Peyton but if this Flynn thing is true it really doesnt make sense. Maybe they knew they were gonna go after Flynn and Marshall screams at crappy QBs.

HAHAHA thanks for that, first time I've laughed since the trade was announced...

I don't necessarily think a nearly 40 year old Manning coming off of multiple neck surgeries from which he may never recover and even if he does will need the better part of a season to get back into playing football after a ridiculous amount of time away from the game is a better thing for this franchise than giving Flynn a chance in a familiar offense with a familiar coach. If Manning was 5 years younger, or coming off of almost any other injury I'd be fine with it, but a major neck injury with multiple surgeries and more than a year off of the field isn't what a 38(?) year old QB usually comes back from no matter who he was before he went down.

Neither option is ideal but honestly I'd rather take my chances on the much younger, and healthier player that won't cost as much and therefor isn't quite as big of a risk.

Ok big boy...A problem child, wife beating,psychotic...who is now on his third team while having pro bowl talent....I see a pattern here.
We vastly overpaid for him...I would have prefered a 2nd for him..but (2) three's is about right.
Without the Cutler connection...I don't believe we get that 2nd 3.

can't really disagree here, along with all the baggage, he dropped more TDs than he caught

Miami better have something up their sleeve.. Not likin the moves thus far. We need to add Flynn, Wayne, Clark, and Winston

Plus..if Manning comes here...he won't work with a prima donna headcase.
or if Flynn comes...you can't have a QB that might need to be nurtured some dealing with this idiot.
We got what we could....the real mistake was two 2nds to bring him here in the first place.
