At the phinsider.com, Travis Wingfield predicts that Yeremiah Bell, Shirdonya Mitchell, Matt Roth, Derek Hagan and Travis Daniels "may not be well known around the league, but may soon become household names."

I know many here like Bell a lot, but I don't think Mitchell and him are that good, and Daniels has to be healthy for a full season. I am worried about the DB situation and I hope I'm wrong about it. However, if I could get a wish, I'd ask for a breakout season for the OL.

mitchell may not make the team, daniels in my opinion is too slow, other guys right on

I think that's pretty optimistic. I would guess Roth and Bell are good bets to break out. Hagen may if Booker is traded. The rest are very iffy.

I don't think Daniels is too slow. Yea, if you look at his "Madden speed" then yes, he's slow

But he played very well his rookie year. To me, I don't care if you're too slow or if you're too small or anything....as long as you perform on the field, and Daniels has done that when he's been healthy

Bell could definatly be a force now that he has secured a starting spot. It also helps that he'll be a Free agent next year. Also Will allen, Hill, and daniels should all be better so they can also help him. Overall the secondary should be better this year, but not by any huge leaps or bounds.

Hagan will not be a big contributer until booker is released. With chambers switching to the X position, there are a limited amount of snaps available for both booker and hagan. He may be able to get the slot job, but the feeling is that chambers will be switching alot between the X spot and the slot position...Luckily he has had a good mini-camp. But do not get fooled by all the praise. CK pointed it out that Cam, said he pushed hagan because he needed to be pushed to get to his potential. at some point cam will stop pushing and it will be up to Hagan to keep himself focused and going forward.

Matt Roth showed a lot of good things last year. While he has always been good agaisnt the run, last year he finally showed off some pass-rush moves and some speed. By the end of the year him and carter were in an elmost even rotation.

Mitchell will first need to make the roster before he worries about making an impact. As a corner he's still raw. Remember he was a WR in college for 2 years, and then made the switch to DB. He put up great numbers at the combine, but then he tore his ACL at his pro-day. 2 years later he looks to be finally back in shape. Still...he's Raw, and will need to show the coaches that he has potential. He does have one lucky thing however. Because he played in NFL europe he has a roster exemption until the final cut. Therefore he should have a chance to make the team if he shows the coaches that he is healthy and can pick up the defense.

In a similar article, Len Pasquarelli from ESPN.com writes that "players tend to improve most from first to second year" and he mentions Jason Allen as one of the "players who either didn't get much playing time or fell short of expectations as rookies in 2006, but are being counted on to play significant roles in 2007."

He adds that "Allen will be closely scrutinized." That is, if he doesn't improve enough this year, he'll never be considered to have starter potential (as a #16 overall pick should have).

Mitchell will make the team and will become starter early in the season. Hagan will make plays for us this season. Daniels is consistant(minor injuries held him back a little last year. Bell is a flat out stud, he didn't struggle at all last year in his first season seeing significant time...which is unusual for the position!

i think hagan has a chance to be really good but he has a lot to prove in game situations,,he definately has problems with balls that are in the air over 15 yards,,he has some anxiety in his game.
