Some Pittsburgh Fans Want Bill Cowher to be fired.

does Cowher say the same things wk after wk during a press conference?

lets say Cowher comes here, would he change the D to a 3-4 scheme or go with a 4-3 since thats best, due to the players we have?

Yes he says the same thing week after week too.

Cowher has done a great job keeping Pitt competitive but his teams never got over the hump, they made 1 SB appearance but lost 3 other AFC Title Games at home. He has taken that franchise as far as they will go w/ him, I would make a change there.

Cowher would be a definite upgrade over Wanny. But he's still overrated as a coach. He's been badly outcoached in each of those AFC Championships he's lost. The one they lost to New England was inexcusable: underuse of Amos Zereoue, horrific special teams play, etc. In fact, unless I'm mistaken, he's lost them all at home. (a quick look at nyjunc's post verifies that at least someone is with me on that stat)

It's irrelevant, though: Cowher signed a long-term extension before this year, and unlike Wayne Huizenga, the Rooney family is totally unwilling to eat that money.

Actually he won one at home, the '95 AFC Championship Game(Jan' 96) against the Colts but Indy nearly won that game. They lost as a hailr mary went through the hands of one of their WRs. Pitt was inches away from another home los in the AFC Title game.

Right, I knew that. What I meant was that he lost three AFC Championships, and he lost all three at home. Not that he's lost every home AFC Championship he's ever played.
I remember that Indy game quite well. At first, I thought for sure that Aaron Bailey caught that ball.

You've got to be kidding me with that moronic statement. inFins is an articulate and resourceful poster here, an integral part of many meaningful discussions. Well respected and considered a friend by most who post here!

Dude...get a grip!!!!!!!!! :fire:
Thanks Double D....:D

you guys kidding me , i would love to have cowher in miami , he's a very good coach , you see the steelers are alot like the expos they both had a ton of very good young talent but they let them go cause they don't have the money or they are cheap ... if cowher comes to miami next year it would be great but i think even with him here it'll take a couple of years for him to repair what wanny has done to this team . the defense will be getting old but the offense should be good for some time IF THEY REPAIR THAT SWISS CHEESE O-LINE ....

Lets see...wanny has 1 playoff win in his entire coaching carreer (thanks to a 200-yards performance by Lamar and a missed FG by Mr. Automatic vanderhoweveryouspellhis freakinname).

Wanny actually does have one other play-off win to his credit. In either late December 1994 or early January 1995 his Bears beat the Vikings.

If Cowher ends up here, could he please bring Alan Faneca with him?

Right. I think the Steelers are their only business, so they can't afford to take that kind of $$$ hit.
