This guy is huge and he went to school at Utah. He probably isn't very athletic though. He is on the Ravens practice squad and they know a thing or two about defense so he may have something after all.

This guy is a beast. He needs to get a little stronger but he times right as evidenced by the video and he has the size.

I don't know much about him except that he is on the Jaguars practice squad.

All of these guys would be cheap so we could develop them without worrying about the investment.

what makes you think they are better than soliai?
I never said they were better than Soliai. I just think that even if Soliai pans out, Ferguson isn't getting any younger and he probably has only one or two years left. We are going to need someone behind Soliai after Ferguson leaves even if Soliai is the real deal. I also am not convinced yet based on the few good plays he made during the year. I do think he has improved but I am not ready to annoit him starting NT yet. That determination will come after 2009. We will draft an NT, but we need to pick someone up from free agency to try and develop because you can never have too many NTs.

We hunt for talent, so why not hunt for the most important player for our defense?

Isn't 295 a little light for a NT?

Solali went to Utah too at the same time, and he hasn't exactly been the NT of the future here. I think we need parcells to work his magic and draft us a real big sassy one.

Nice job, doing research to try and find guys that might fit our defense. A lot like the guys in the FO are doing. I like this thread because it is a lot different than most of the posts that you see this time of year. Instead of just asking how we are going to improve the NT posistion you offered solutions.

The FO will definately be paying attention to everyone that they think may help our team out. I too feel that it is too early to tell if Solai is going to be the NT of the future for this team. He has made some mistakes that may have hurt his image and ultimately progression because he has missed playing time. I like the first guy that you listed, but I bet the Ravens resigned him after last weeks game ended. He seems to have good size and like another poster said, the Ravens know defensive talent and will most likely keep him if is any good or has shown the potential to become good. I think we will draft someone this year and let Solai show what he has. If he does not impress we will draft someone again next year. The only way to get a good NT is to draft one early and develop him.

i want a bone-a-fide quarter pounder at NT.. not a practice squad dude

A lot of great players started off as practice squad dudes:

Davone Bess
James Harrison
Bart Scott
Kurt Warner
Antonio Gates
Warren Moon
Willie Parker
Jake Delhomme
Tony Romo

and that is just to name a few.

Are you sure you are not getting practice squad confused with undrafted free agents. The practice squad was not even around when Warren Moon was a rookie and Davon Bess, Bart Scott, Kurt Warner, Antonio Gates and Willie Parker were never on the practice squad.

What about Dwan Edwards from Baltimore? He's not PS, but he may be a guy that we could look at.

Finished the season on IR. 6'3, 290, was a 2nd round pick in 2004.

He's a FA this year, so we could probably pick him up for cheap.
