you know something guys,i've just been doing some random thinking on our phins the last few days, and i'll tell you guys what,it'd sure be nice if we could acquire 2 extra second rounders, and maybe an extra 3rd somehow without giving up too much, then i'd be all for grabbing hakeem nicks if he's still there and securing our #1 wr position with a nicks&ginn 1&2 combo with camarillo&bess in the slot, and fasano&martin as our te...now if by chance rey maualuga's sitting there, then i'm pulling the trigger on him and grabbing him,he's a tone setter on defense, whatever his other flaws are can be coached out,but he brings a tone to a defense, and he could easily become our ray lewis, but if he's gone and nicks is there..well,we have 4 second rounders in which to grab an olb,ilb,cb,&g...solidifying some positions with talented players at their positions...ahhh well, enough rambling...

I like Nicks but I wouldnt mind getting Kenny Britt (if Nicks is gone)

nice thoughts. but got any ideas on how to acquire more picks? trade down in draft? or trade players?

More 2nd rounders would be very, very nice.

I wonder if the FO can swindle someone into taking Satele for a 2nd. Probably not.

If someone offers a 2nd for Peezy on draft day, I think you've got to take it. So there...2 2nd rounders for ya...not very likely but that's probably the only way it will happen.

Parcells will find a way to get us another draft pick or two. He has a good habit of building teams thru the draft and picking up the right players in the process.

Satele and Beck package would probly bring a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Beck has potential in a west coast offense and Satele is a probowler in a zone blocking scheme. adding another 2nd would be HUGE. A 1st 3 2nds and a 3rd. Thats 5 expected contributers.

i think a Satele&Beck package could bring us a 2nd and maybe a 6th...another 2nd sure would be nice...

some more random thoughts:
1) we need to wait & see how the new offensive line gels & Satele responds to competition before we part with him.
2) As far as I'm concerned Beck is on equal footing with Henne until they are both given equal opportunities to play with the first offensive unit. Would be a big mistake to let the wrong #2 go. We need to be dead positive on that decision before we pull the trigger or wind up regretting the decision for the next 12 years, a lifetime of regret in the NFL .
3)Since the departure of Holiday I don't see Starks on the trading block either.

I think we're stuck with our late 1st round & two #2's in the draft. we already lost a late round (7)to Jacksonville for a Defensive Linesman. don't see a lot of wiggle room in the 09 draft. it is pretty much what it is. The TriFecta will have play their hand brilliantly. then proceed to coach-up the team, bringing the very best out of each & everyone of them as quickly & completely as possible. :D

Satele and Beck for a high second sounds good to me.

I think you missed the point. there probably won't be any trades for draft picks
but only the Tuna knows!:hump:

Doesnt say much for Satele that they signed some possible replacments. Trust me whether or not Beck turns out to be decent any time soon (which i highly highly doubt) they already have there high hopes and investment in Henne and it shows in the depth chart and giving Henne the rookie the chance to play in real game over Beck. They have no plans for a future Beck other than the trading block.

do not agree, fail to follow your logic.
(please re-read the previous post)

unsubstantiated banter abounds in your post.
please enlighten me if I'm wrong.
say what you mean in a meaningful fashion that reflects your argument.

banter is not a good thing. illogical.

whats not to follow, its usually a known thing that a new coach brings in "there own qb" and drafts "there own qb" and the one that is carried over into the new regime is 9 times outta 10 the odd man out, unless your tom brady, manning etc. . Point is Sparano and company hasnt shown anything that would lead me to believe that Beck is in there future, if you want an example go look at Denver right now, it happens.
