I just picked up that paper. It was titled 'NFL 2008 FORECAST'
No earth shattering stuff, just thought I'd share some tidbits to pass the slow time.

-- Every team coached by Parcell's(Giants, Patriots, Jets and Cowboys) each averaged nearly seven wins in their first year under his watch. He's not the coach, but he's running the show.

-- Sparano is in the enviable position of coaching a team that has nowhere to go but up.

-- The Dolphins got a good start in the draft. Several experts including one of USA Today's writers gave Miami's draft an A and others B+ at worst.

-- No Dolphin player was even on their TOP 50 fantasy rankings list.:boohoo: (who cares, because I HATE Fantasy Football:D)

-- Ronnie Brown didn't make their Top 20 RB's list.:shakeno:

-- Parcells usually turns teams around within 2 years.

-- The Dolphins avoided overpaying for free agents like they did last year for Joey Porter.

-- OC Dan Henning's style is a lot of play-action passes and a solid, power running game.

-- Sparano has that O lineman toughness and will be a no-nonsense rookie coach.

There's a lot more. Nothing real new. I just thought I'd share a few little tidbits with you.

If there's more Dolphins tidbits, by all means share them! Oh, and I hate Fantasy Football as well. I always thought it was pointless.

we will definitely be experts at the run and the short play action dumps and we will even go down field once or twice a game...hey i was upset about the draft but at least the Dolphins have a definite Direction...lets dominate the line of scrimmage and hopefully our pathetic Defensive backfield holds up

Ronnie Brown is going into this season VERY underrated. He was a Pro Bowler if he played in 16 games last year. Was tearing up the league.

Hopefully it motivates the guy. Also, will be a nice steal in fantasy drafts.

1. Ronnie was a top 5 RB before he got injured and he's not in their top 20 list? :rolleyes2:

2. We know that we'll play power running football, the R&R Express with some carries from Parmele! But here's my question, how good are Beck and Henne in play-action passes? Can they fool guys and have success like P. Manning, Brady or Big Ben from the Steelers with those passes? If so, Ginn should get some 20+ an 40+ yard catches and td's for us! :woot:

Let's hope, but the thing that really sets up the successful play-action passes is having a strong running game.

That is just ignorant as he was the #1 back in my league before getting hurt. Unless they just went off of last year's final statistics with no insight (wouldn't surprise me a bit) then you would have to put Ronnie in the top 5-10.

i'm pretty sure ronnie brown was not just high but the number 1 ranked fantasy player before he went down. catching plus running, he was burning it up. but acl is a serious concern.

According to Jaws during the NFL Draft coverage, Henne is really good at play action. His only problem was that he locks on receivers some times and stares them down. But that's something that can be coached.

Yes, I was actually listening to Jaws.

well i hat to say this but alot of people here in my area think ronnie was way overrated along with cedric benson . but i think it is a little early to give up on ronnie and i think he will bounce back (knock wood)

did you watch 1 game last season. he was leading the league in yards from scrimmage before he got hurt. if he has 1 knock, its staying healthy. :hi5:

Ronnie and Benson can't be compared. Ronnie's been very good when healthy, which is the biggest concern with him. If he can stay healthy, Ronnie all the way over Benson.

i think Ronnie Brown should be in the top 20, easily, but if reports are true and the coaching staff wants to approach a run-by-committee with Brown and Williams i can understand to an extent why Ronnie isn't higher.
