I was at the game today and it was absolutely great. The stands were pretty full, especially for an 0-3 team and I can honestly say I was shocked by the Dolphins performance today. You can say what you want about the Bills being banged up, but we didn't just beat them, we threw them down and stomped on them. We played like an entirely different team, with great energy and purpose.

Henne played a good game. No real mistakes that I saw, besides a couple balls overthrown or mis-timed, but that happens in your first NFL start. He looked good. But the one problem I had, was with the staff's decisions near the end of the game. Obviously we wanted to continue running because A) that is what we do, and that's what kind of team we are and B) because we have a large lead and wanna keep the clock running. However, we have do have the face the Jets next week, who's defense is gonna be lot stouter than the Bills. Obviously we have a great running game and that's our forte. But why didn't we let Henne throw more? Against a defense that is obviously not that good. I understand the concept of working him in slow and all that, letting the running backs take the pressure off, but in my mind, why not get him all the 'game experience' and work he could against a piss poor Bills defense, while we had a very large lead? That was my only problem with today's game

But with that being said, if Henne continues to grow and we continue to run the ball like we're doing, we have a shot. Obviously next week's game against the Jets is crucial. We cannot afford to lose that game. But if we win, we go 2-3 into the bye week and are one game behind (hoping that the Pats lose). IMO, if our defense shows up, which they looked outstanding today, then we have the 'ball control' offense to control games and take time away from high powered offenses like the Pats and Saints ect.

I think you answered your own question. We are going with what works. No need to throw and run up the score any further.

You don't need to throw the ball to get experience. He was in the game the entire time and managed it from beginning to end (save the last couple of plays with White.) Regardless, he had his fair share of throws anyway.

This is true. And I am not saying have him throw the ball forty times his first outting. But like, when it was 3rd and 10 or 3rd and 12 a couple of times, we always ran that Draw play (which actually worked once, maybe twice). Why not let him try and get that long third down, when there's not so much pressure on him, let him get some practice in those situations, because I guarantee there will be more of those in the Jets game, and those will be 3rd downs we NEED to pick up.

But all in all, I am just nit-picking. It was a perfect day, and I was impressed with the entire team from Henne to Wake, to JT to Davis. I mean everything was clicking and I believe we are going to beat the Jets next Monday. Hoo-Rah!!

The stadium looked a little more then half full on TV.

Ever young QB deserves an opponent like the Bills to build a good foundation from :)

First Henne did throw alot in the beginning. Plus when he was throwing he was getting sacked alot.
Second Since he is the only QB that we can probably win with right now we need to keep him healthy for next week.
BECAUSE third you know the jets after watching this game are going to be bringing everthing plus the kitchen sink next week at Henne. So he is going to get many more lumps unless the offensive line improves alot or he learnd to dump the ball out quicker.

I agree 100%.

I was thinking the same thing myself. I guess it may have been out of frustration that we lost some games we should've won, but I was thinking, why not let Henne throw somemore at the end of the game. It just seemed we went into conservative mode once we had a huge lead. I beleive it led to a few 3 and outs. But I really wanted to run up the score.

The Saints have been doing it, the Pats did it a few seasons ago.....why not send a statement to the Jets?

I like the fact he only through 22-24 times. If Henne has to throw 30-35 times we are in trouble. Getting him through the game without any int will help his confidence. Next week will be a tough, that jet defense held Brees in check, we have to run the football next week or Henne will be blitz all game long. The jets blitz frustrated Tom Brady what do you think it would do to Henne........

If Henne gets the win next week then you can start feeding him some more until then 22-24 just perfect.

I can see where some of you are coming from but i want us to get better in the passing game so opossing defenses dont stop the running game. [ practice makes perfect]

I was sitting in the upper endzone section and the stadium looked to be pretty full, especially for an 0-3 team. I mean I went to four games last year and each time the attendance was pitiful. Maybe it was just the energy or whatnot, but the stadium seemed to be pretty loud, which impressed me, due to our record. I like to see that there's a lot of fans not giving up hope.

only problem i had at the end of the game wen the game was out of reach....why not sit ronnie out and let lex hilliard get the rest of the carries....it saves ronnie from possibly getin injured(knock on wood) but also show other team wat lex is about...

They may want to hide Rex? Really not a bad idea you never know when the injury bug is going to hit. Keep those guys fresh helps in the injury area too.
