Something about the D I have noticed

Haha.....Bake is a JAG. Tindall isn't even that.....

I was being respectful. I don't have anything personal against either player and I don't root against them.

As an aside to that, I don't know if you heard/saw Bill Cowher in the CBS pregame talking about how underrated the LB position has become. He had Roquan Smith and Fred Warner in his top 5 defensive player rankings, granted they were 5th and 4th respectively. Bosa was at 3 and Parsons at 1, its escaping me who was at 2. Might've been Chris Jones. Garrett and Donald weren't in the top 5.

The defense doesn’t have the talent level to be a smothering elite defense. We already have an elite offense anyway, can’t have it all.

That’s why we paid all that money to Fangio. We just need them to be good and to come up big in big moments. So far definitely trending towards that.

Seiler has been a savior. And Van Ginkel has been the best version of himself so far this year. Hustle doesn't show up in the stats sheets most of the time. These two define what effort can produce.

I didn't see that segment but Cower is old school to the bone. I'm not surprised he would have that opinion.

ya the other cohosts were taken aback with those rankings which he actually prefaced by apologizing to Sauce Gardner for not putting him in the rankings.

While I get where he's coming from, especially with those two guys as they control their defenses, Myles Garrett belonged on the list over both of them.

I think his overall point was to note that there are just so few quality ILB's to begin with and the disparity between the great ones and the rest of them is just so vast.

Been meaning to check out Clemson's Jeremiah Trotter Jr. He's one of the top ILB's expected to come out next year and his pops was a beast.

I am always going to point out the worst players on the team, if that means I have an agenda, so be it. Typically my agenda with former Buckeyes is to prop them up given my love for The Ohio State University.

The previous coaches didn't have a choice when it came to playing Baker. He had too much guaranteed money, which won't be the case after the season, when he's one of the first players released.

The only thing he had going for him is that we had no other LB's and little means of replacing him. When you're a zero impact player making 8 figures, everyone should have the same agenda.

He's a weakness no matter how you spin it.

Also remember Flores and Boyer got FIRED.

Hard to comprehend the defense of Baker here. Especially after he chose to do nothing on the Mike Gesicki lateral play, other than watch it unfold, while most of the other defenders swarmed to the ball. Its who he is, no heart, just athletic ability.

The irony here is that I only mentioned him this week because he actually made a single (big) play.

I think we can make a move to upgrade that position before the trade deadline.
All you need to do is look at the snap count to know the Dolphins \ Fangio thinks he is the best inside linebacker he has, he never leaves the field. Grier never has or is willing to pay for elite level linebacker instead putting money on CB's.

I don't think he is top tier but high 2nd level and if you're not willing to pay for one, he is one of the best 2nd tier guys out there.

One of the changes Fangio needs to make is putting Ogbah back on the d-line with his hand in the dirt, standing him up as OLB isn't the best way to use him. Need more pressure on the QB that's the move to make.

That's a whole discussion in itself.

He coached in an era that had a completely different philosophy, not to mention terminology.

In his era, there was no such thing as the "edge" position philosophically. There were not really any hybrid defenses in the forms we see today.

Run the ball and stop the run was the mantra. That isn't going to win consistently today. Sure, it's still part of the formula, but it is secondary, perhaps even tertiary, to coverage schemes and getting pressure on the QB in passing situations.

The realities of the game is why LB play has become less important. Is it a plus to have a stud, do it all LB? Absolutely, but how much is it worth in terms of cap percentage spent, relative to some other positions?

LBs have lost ground importance. On the other hand, top interior Dline players are getting paid.

You can't have elite at every position. You can't pay for elite at every position, so determinations have to be made. Would you rather pay for an elite LB or Corner? LB or Pass Rusher? LB or OT?

See what I'm getting at here?

Jalen Ramsey come back and is healthy enough to contribute we could morph into something a bit better and different.

Don't mind the defense being a little off it seems to push the offense, if we were winning these game but 30 points or so they would be boring to watch. End of season is a different matter...

Didn’t realise we were talking about the Bills run D and their 5.9ypc. Mostert and Achane about to go for 250 this week.

Probably right. It's the only way Tua makes it out of the game unharmed. To be honest, I think the guy behind him is more dangerous. Just hoping White still sees Milano in his nightmares.

Don't get your hopes up ladies, Fangio has already shown once that he has no answers for Allen. It's going to be a great game.

I'm not a fan of Baker, but, he's been a starter for every HC/DC. There has to be something there and this far into his career I don't buy draft status or his salary. I know I worry every time I see him in coverage outside the hashes

Your little momma's basement piss poor attempt at trolling is noted. I understand your nervous energy and concern. We put 70 up on the Broncos without Waddle and a lil rookie running back. And pulled starters after 3 quarters. If I was you would probably do the same. Who could sleep knowing what is coming. Carry on.

Should be a great game, at least we agree on something.

I also love how Dorsey is turning Allen into a dink and dunk QB to limit his bonehead mistakes, it might even work out for you in the long run.

Usually until the 4 th quarter in big games.

Through 3 weeks last season our D looked better and we had A LOT OF PEOPLE on this forum trashing the defense.

Your "observation" is exactly what it was last season... we had big stops in big moments and then the offense would complement by coming up big.

Our D was so much better than given credit for last season when EVERYONE was shitting on them even though they had a lot of consistent big defensive plays.

This is not a post detracting against Fangio at all - I'm happy with the pick up, just funny observation on my end.

Wow. This isn't even a good troll. Amateur hour here. Do better.

I will be looking for an apology when Tua eventually goes out again and White saves your season, not to mention he can take a hit.
