Last year he was injured BEFORE his huge injury

Daunte Culpepper, QB, MIN
Sprained MCL / Bursitis
Huddle Up: Earlier this week Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper admitted that he was playing with a bad knee, but now we have the specifics behind his injury. Culpepper reportedly sprained the medical collateral ligament in his right knee during Week 1's game against the Bucs. He is also suffering from knee bursitis, which is the inflammation of a bursa sac (fluid-filled sac that reduces friction between body tissue). Neither injury has forced him to miss a game but they continue to limit his mobility. The Vikings have a bye this weekend so this gives Culpepper an extra week to rest, but the team's medical staff isn't sure if he will be completely healthy when they return in Week 6. We will keep you posted on his progress.

Gee its no wonder he played bad huh  his best O-Lineman out, no running game, an already bad knee.

Good info, I didn't know that. I think there were a LOT of reasons for his poor play last year before the big injury.

I don't really think it matters at this point ....

The ONLY thing that matters is that he IS our starting QB .... and HE needs to get the job DONE !

It doesn't matter who folks feel is better - Brady or Culpepper .... doesn't matter what his past stats are ... doesn't matter if his stats where in part due to Moss ...

What matters is what HE does in the pocket over the next 6 games to get to the level HE needs to play at CONSISTENTLY -- and successfully lead this team to where its capable of being ... its really that simple !!

When he was playing the whole team was playing poorly and people don't realize that

Our best o-lineman isn't out and our running game will destroy your crappy Bills run defense.

Top 10 excuses for Culpepper last year:
10) He was hurt
9) No running game
8) He played harded opponents than Brad Johnson
7) The defense hadn't gelled
6) Burleson was hurt
5) He spent too much time molesting strippers on boats
4) He need an upgrade from purple to the much more manly aqua green and orange
3) Prince cooked too many pancakes for him and he got fat
2) He forgot how to walk after Randy carrying him on his back all those years

and
1) He sucked. I'm not saying he is a terrible QB. But face facts, he was god awful last year. Stop with the excuses. The bottomline is 6 tds, 14 ints, and however many fumbles. Brad Johnson is winning games with the Vikings.

Good stuff. Everyone was and still is grilling him for those handfull of games. Calm down people. Let the guy get healthy and adjusted to a new team.

I already heard this. Enough excuses for the guy. He just needs to step up and play better.

This week I have a feeling he will be dominant against the Bills, but I think his next true test is going to be when we play a complicated defense when we play the Pats.

Just another excuse, he is healthy now and has a decent Ol and excellent skill players and played like '05 in week 1- what was the excuse then?

He was the reason why we were in the game to begin with. He looked flat and maybe a little uncomfortable but really, it is to be expected.

Because the game plan changed and the defense performed better. Those are facts.
