Pierre Garcon caught 4 total passes in 2008. How many did he catch today in one game? 12 or so. You may never know what you have right in front of your face when it comes to WR. Another reason I don't see the Phins drafting a WR. Or spending too much on one. Garcon also was not chosen until the 6th round.

And of course another thing to take away, the Jets lost and they are now restricted in what they can do because of no new CBA. They can't sign a Free Agent unless they lose one of their own, and there is a limit on the amount of money they can spend.

He also has one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL throwing the ball to him. Big difference.

Yes but supposedly we have our QB of the future. 2010 will be his 3rd NFL season, 2nd as a starter[most likely]. Can't discredit 2008 though, learning from Pennington that year was crucial.

There's a big difference between franchise QB and possibly the greatest QB to ever play the game.

Peyton Manning makes any WR around him better. Only two QB's in the entire NFL can do that imo. Manning and Brady. For everybody else, you need to have a go to WR (or TE).

Henne is not going to grow into an elite QB with a bunch of slot receivers like he has now. He needs that big, fast WR with good hands, and Dez Bryant can easily be that guy. Sure, there are surprises in the later rounds like a Garcon or Colston or countless others, but when you see talent, it usually pops out at you. If Bryant pops out at Parcells and company, they will draft him 12th overall, no matter what their history suggests, they will draft who they think helps this team the most with that pick.

Basically, you can't use Manning and the Colts as a basis for "Oh, you shouldn't draft a WR in the first round", because the situation is completely different.

Funny how every single receiver Peyton throws to turns out to be a pretty good one isn't it? Brandon Stokely, Anthony Gonzalez, Pierre Garcon, Dallas Clark, Austin Collie.

Probably just coincidence that Indianapolis seems to hit home run after home run when it comes to the receiver position. Peyton Manning is so lucky.
