I'm wondering if the brass think they have more depth than most of us think.

The nonchalant attitude being displayed by Sparano and Ireland is making me wonder.

Not using the franchise tag speaks volumes.

I know Charlie Anderson and Nate Jones made some plays at the end of last year.

Are they counting on Jason Allen to start? Is Culver a starter?

What about the guys from the PS they brought back? Is this the year Billingsley "gets it". He is probably faster than any corner in this years draft.

What about Walden?? He did play well on special teams. Can he move inside and push Torbor for snaps.

What about Moses? What kind of value does he have, if any?

Can any of these guys really turn it on and make a difference?

What about Joe Cohen?? He was a 4th round pick. Blew out his knee and got cut but that was a couple years ago. Can he beat out Soliai and make the rotation?

What about Rod Wright????? He was a 1st round prospect until the shoulder injury surfaced. What ever happened to this guy?

I just get the impression they think they have something somewhere.

Thoughts?

It certainly shows were content to go through this season without our FA's and not worry about it.

We probably do have some young talent in some of those players you mentioned, but I think the FO just doesn't want to overpay our mediocre players.

I think you're partially right. I also think the FO has it's eye on young free agents who been playing behind a big name and haven't had their chance yet. These are players are ready to come in and start, but just haven't made a name for themselves yet. this FO got a good TE in Fasano for half a 4th round pick. I have confidence in them.

You're absolutely right.

Even beyond that, what about a couple of those R/Young Ts that MIAMI picked up? It's as if PARCELLS & CO was HIDING THEM. And what about SATELE's torn labrum? I'm reading some reports now indicating that they want SATELE to rehab and bulk up by c. 12-15 lbs, to 315-20ish. And I've also read that they want ALLEMAN (who looked pretty good last season) to bulk up by 10 lbs. As to TORBOR, he was in a new position (ILB) last year: he made his name w/the GIANTS AS AN OLB. How well did the Triumverate feel he did as an ILB? Good enough to stay there? And what about WAKE? They didn't pay him so well, and bring him here, to polish the bench w/his butt!

As to CULVER, i/m/o anyway, he should start. And J ALLEN did so well vs those big WRs that he has to play, at least as MIAMI's 3rd/"nickel" CB. IF MIAMI only signed GOODMAN and BELL, and picked up a couple of YOUNG DBs (1 S and 1 CB), the Secondary might be solid even w/o BILLINGSLY (sp?): and by the way, HOW IS BILLINGSLY doing?

We fans don't know a lot about the MIAMI roster. But I've posted (here and elsewhere), e.g., that IDDYPOOKU, or whatever his name is, was mediocre at G, but MIGHT JUST BE a prospective OT. If it occurred to me, it MUST have occurred to PARCELLS & CO..

Only time will tell. But I agree w/you 1000%. And if it's true that there already ARE a lot of solid young players on the roster, it would explain a seeming lack of concern over certain of our own F/As. After all, CROWDER didn't come up w/many game-changing plays, and CAREY played fat--PARCELLS absolutely HATES that!

Sorry, all: I hit the "Submit" button twice. Silly me!

your completely right. we could have a big time player anywhere on the roster. look at how tom brady came in. just a 6th round pick that nobody cared about. bledsoe screwed up is knee (ironically the way cassel got his start) and is now a big time QB, unfortunately.

I think they splash for Brown C Ravens and go all out in draft. Gonna get a Tackle now. Phil Loadholt? BP did go to Oklahoma to check out some talent.

They are the experts and know the players far better than we do..

Thats why I laugh when I see posts saying, they made a mistake by not franchising this guy, and what were they thking when they cut this guy and not resigning this guy and blah blah blah... :rolleyes2:

This was the plan from the beginning of last year, so why people so pissed off that we are following it is beyond me. Seemed like a pretty good idea during the 2008 campaign

Exactly man. I'm just sitting back here .. watching at everyone thinking that since the FO didn't make the choices they thought they would, that we're ultimately screwed. Its like they forget we have BILL PARCELLS up there, friggin BILL PARCELLS! ..I know none of the panic will end until the season starts though..
