I swear to the Lord above, people say the dumbest things when they get around "famous" people. I've seen it many times on this board in story's about meeting players, and have seen it a million times in other various venues.

People either clam up and ask stupid things, or try to find something to say just to get someone to speak to them...and the initial statement to get that is usually dumb.

Were all humans, ask them something you would ask a friend you haven't seen in a while or someone you just met. If for some reason they answer like a jerk, give it right back to them.

Can't say I have ever heard anyone ask that immediately to a friend they haven't seen in a while or someone they just met.

I met Chris Slade LB formerly of the Patriots years ago and did not make any sense as a spoke to him. He was really nice and friendly, but I remember thinking he must have thought I was ******ed or something.

it was more of an inside joke...i have a friend and his name is Nick...i have not seen him in awhile until...i ran into him at a club in New Haven this past weekend...he hooked up with some nice looking chick...the next day...i ran into him again...at the gym and the first thing i said was...so did you bang her? and we both started laughing...

funny you mention that...i ran into a pat lb as well...vincent brown at logan airport...i saw this big dude...in a leather pats coat...and a huge gold necklace with a #59 charm on the necklace...i knew it was him...i think it was Dec. 1995...i walked up to him...i said hey your vincent brown...right? he put his finger over his lip and said sheesh..yes...i said hey you mind signing my something for me...he like...i don't know if i should...you have a dolphins parka...he's like are you a fan or just like the coat...i was like...I'm a huge miami dolphins fan...he was like okay i'll still give you a sig if you want it...he was really cool.

I met him at a book signing in New Orleans around February. I'd told him to try and trade down and pick up picks. He kind of had a smirk on his face and said, "anyone in particular you'd like me to choose?" :roflmao: He's got a dry and smart@$$ sense of humor and very personable, contrary to the early reports by the local beat writers.
