something is stirring

I just think the FO had a bunch of plans for this offseason but none (except Bush) have come to fruition. I hope your right because right now we are no better than we were last year.

We are better than last year. We added a playmaker in RB Bush. According to everyone I read and hear we upgraded significantly at ILB by cutting Crowder and adding Burnett. Columbo brings improved depth at OT and Pouncey has the potential to upgrade the interior of the OL. Gates brings needed speed at WR and Will Allen is back to bring depth at CB. Clay brings speed at TE. So the way I see it both offense and defense is much better. Depending on how all our rookies play along with Odrick healthy, we could be even better than we think. Yes the QB position is a big hole but our team is much better, not the same.

at this point, since Dalton has so impressed the Bengals staff, maybe someone's talking some sense into bullheaded and inconsistent Mike Brown..since Carson Palmer was always our best option and IMO remains our only viable one!

for what it's worth, Armando agrees with you:

Another sign that something is afoot is that the organizaton has gone into stealth mode. Suddenly text messages are being ignored. No one wants to speak -- not even on background. The last time it got this quiet, the club added Brandon Marshall. That is a fact.

Parcells is coming back just to tick Jason Taylor off.

At a minimum, Henne is a decent backup. At best, he can improve and be a decent starter. Don't be in too big a hurry to just kick him out the door. The clearing of some salary cap space is a good sign of a future move. Maybe we swap a defensive lineman plus a middle draft pick for Carson Palmer

Orton isn't happening guys. Schefter just said on Sportcenter that the Broncos aren't trading him. He'll be their starter this year.

I also get the feeling that something is going on, but I don't think it will be the guys you mentioned. Braylon is suspect, Osi is a great player but not a real need for us, and I am not at all sure about Carson, even if he became available. He would likely be an upgrade, but does not know our system and that would take some time.
I have this feeling that we are going to pull off a huge move in the near future. Things will be much clearer in the next couple of days. We are making moves and clearing cap room for something... My Crystal Ball says Braylon, Osi and Carson. with Henne getting cut or traded.

Offensively, you're correct but I think we're going to be a lot better defensively. We have a ton of youth that's only going to get better. Guys like Misi, Davis, Wake and Carroll are only going to get better. We have Odrick back as well as Edds. Burnett is an upgrade over Crowder. Soliai is turning into a force. Not to mention last year was Nolan's first year so the D will be more comfortable with his schemes. I'm really excited about this defense.

You are right, we will probably be better on defense but that wasn't the problem last year!

I'm convinced that the Dolphins are clearing up space so they can lock Henne up long term. Until I'm proven otherwise, I will continue to believe this.

I know, a friend of my uncle´s maid told me (she´s been right so far when she predicted fatty liver for me 10 years ago, as well as an expanded waistline, she´s 2 for 2), we´re trading next year´s 2nd for John Beck!!!

So we are picking up Osi, Braylon and Carson . . . about 30 million dollars in new money towards the cap, and we are only cutting Chad Henne's $560,000 salary?

Lol, I'd be happy if we just got Palmer myself. Some people are just so greedy they want to bust the cap.
