Unless I missed a thread......at the end of the first half we got a PI call. The officials marked the ball at our 40 yard line but the replay showed it should habe been the 42. Their kicker made the long F/G by half a yard so he would have missed from the 42 and we lost by 3. Also keep on mind our kicker missed a short F/G so we could and should have won by 3.....lol

Still, it should have never come to that and we played bad but we got screwed by the officials as always and our kicker let us down.

Ozzy rules!!

THats what happens in almost every NFL game. The officials didnt screw us out a win we just got beat

We can make excuses all day long but the fact that 2 yards changed the game is rediculous. If miami played up to their potential it shouldnt of been a game. However they didnt and we got screwed but in the end, **** happens. Bad calls are made every game but its nobodys fault but ours as to why two yards even mattered at all.

I'm not disagreeing with you guys. Like I said we played horrible and it shouldn't have come to that. Just saying last year if we lost by 3 after missing a fg there would have been several threads about it.

that was a phantom PI too, on top of a bad ball spot. but what are you gonna do refs are human

If that situation happened at the end of the game instead of the end of the half, then you can say the refs lost it for us but since we had another half of football to play to make up for it...we just got beat......

I think a more interesting tid bit is that a good coach, who was paying attention and had a smart coaching staff, would have challenged the ball spot and got it moved two yards back.

2 things.

1. it was under 2 minutes and you can't challenge.
2. you can't challenge penalties

But somehow its still Philbins fault....

I understand. I don't like Philbin either but he was livid over the ball spot. He was in the refs face for like 10 minutes. You can't blame Philbin for this. There are so many other things you could pick but be fair

I was being sarcastic because according to many Joe is to blame for everything since 2008... there was nothing he could do in this situation

This kind of stuff happens - rest assured Philbin got the message to the league office. That's all you can do - make some noise and hope it brings about change so someone else doesn't get screwed the same way you did.

Honestly, if the NFL doesn't retain a lot of gray area in the way penalties are called/reviewed, it would become harder to fix games.

I don't know man, if I were Philbin, I'd be sure to get the ref's attention before the Jags got that kick off. That was a critical mistake and I keep finding myself saying our coach needs more fire, intensity, and passion. As the leader of this football team, Joe's gotta grow a pair, give it to the officials, and make sure the correct call is made. Can't challenge the penalty? Fine, challenge the spot of the ball. Can't challenge the spot of the ball? Fine, throw out the challenge flag just to get the ref's attention and explain to him that they made a mistake. What's the worst they are going to do? Pick up the red challenge flag, hand it back to Philbin, and announce to the crowd that's a play that can't be challenged? At least he spoke to the refs about it after at halftime, but I wish he would have done something prior to the kick...

In my opinion, he's too laid back at times and let's bad things happen to him and his team. Do you think any NFL caliber coach worth his weight in salt would just sit back and allow that to happen? I'm frustrated that we lost the game but I'm trying not to let that cloud my judgement of Philbin. I've supported him for a long time but man... it's getting tough. It seems like we're playing catchup quite often. It's nice to see that the Dolphins usually make good half-time adjustments, but I'd like to see us head into halftime with the lead... especially vs mediocre teams. Maybe we're just mediocre too. I feel like this team has the pieces but is handicapped by the coaching staff.
