Something some of us havent learned yet DOLFANS

well they are probably right. As of right now there are only two teams that are good enough to make it to the SB this season.

No, there are several that are good enough. Whether one of those teams will be LUCKY enough is another question.
Right now, I would say that the Chiefs, Colts, Titans, Vikings and possibly Panthers are good enough. Injuries, bounces of the ball, etc will determine which two make it.

Great post...

Sure, 8/9 weeks in the season all the "experts" have already decided who is gonna play/win the super bowl....and those teams you mentioned are all certainly capable.

However, while right NOW this team doesn't seem like a serious playoff contender, you never know what the next 4/5 weeks will bring.

I mean, after week 2 everyone had Buffalo winning the whole thing...and while the Titans, Chiefs, and Colts look good now...
you never know. And personally Miami has just as much talent in totality than all of these teams, we just need something to put it all together.

We could put it together in time. Then again, we could not. That what makes it interesting.

That's exactly the right avatar for people who want to be blindly optimistic and ignore reality...sleeping peacefully.

your sig seems to note a bit of an optimistic side, or perhaps you want everyone to ignore a certain aspect of reality. i think it's the latter, because i'm not catching much optimism from you. are you a disciple of strauss?

again, it's been posted hundreds of times: if you know who's going to win the super bowl in week 9 every year then you need to get to a sportsbook like yesterday.

again, it's not blind optimism to think this team still has a chance. i agree it doesn't look great now, but they don't hand out lombardi trophies in november.

this may not be well received in so. fla., but i'm an ohio state fan, and every year they lost to michigan and crushed everybody's hopes. every year i kept rooting for them. i had a lot of friends who couldn't enjoy the national championship run because the team was "barely winning." i kept saying: "they only have to barely win another couple of games." everybody was happy in the end, but some enjoyed the season more than others.

there are no such things as style points in football. you win or you lose. this team has had a chance to win every game. go ahead and give yourself an ulcer about style points if you want, but it seems to contradict your sig, rik. football is a distraction in life, it's not life itself. i liked mike's post, and your predictable "walk my own path" posts are putting me to sleep.

What do Geese and Humans have in common?

Sure thats a good read and sure some may think they can apply it to our team.

I disagree though. If a player is slacking off or a coach isnt doing what he should be he needs to be yelled at fired cut or any other things.

Critsis is what us fans do. We do it out of love for our team because we dont want to see them in the position they are in. If we could help them we could but there isnt much we can do. I believe in giving someone a chance and I do it.

Its when that persons chance is up that action needs to be takin. I believe that our staff is too affraid to do that and is showing a weakness. We should fly like geese but if you think about it you realise that in doing so the world would never change. Teams would figure us out easily and we would lose every game.

If we were all the same and all flew together then the opponents would figue us out. We need these strays and we need these people who dont fly with the group in order to maintain unpredictability.

The composer or the philosopher?
Anyway, my sig is a response to people who are always whining about how bad things are nowadays and how it's never been as bad as this before.
I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic, I am realistic. When the Fins have a realistic chance of going to the SB, I will be excited about it. Right now, they don't.

I don't know who will be in the Super Bowl in November...but I know who WON'T be in the Super Bowl by November.

Ok, but when does someone else get to be the lead GOOSE? Because our leader is tired, and we are losing momentum.

Wow, LoXin, you went way out of your way to miss the point entirely.

i respect your opinion. the season doesn't end now, however, and i believe there are competent players and coaches working on fixing what is wrong. i understand that we disagree there. it gets tiresome to hear all the negativity. you don't like constant negativity about the real world, i don't like constant negativity about the phins. to each his own.

how many of the last 4 super bowl winners were even part of the debate in week 9? i watched a few of those teams closely and i sure didn't think they had something at the halfway point.

p.s. that was LEO strauss. if you can tell what composers people are into by what they write, you really have a gift.

Well, let's see.
I knew the Bucs were going to win their division by this time last year. I didn't KNOW they would make the SB, but I knew they were one of the contenders.
The Pats I admit, no one called.
The Ravens were an unknown still in week 9 too.
The Rams everyone knew were a contender.
So in 50% of the cases, it was clear that the SB winner was a SB contender by week 9. In the other two cases, extraordinary coaching and incredible defensive performances vaulted their teams into the SB...along with not a little luck.
I don't see us having that kind of coaching, that kind of defense and DEFINITELY not that kind of luck.

I know I can't...I just thought maybe you could. :D
