Somethings Going Down

I Like Zimmer as a "leader of men" type and as someone who has a clear vision of what he and the team will be about. God knows Ross and Ireland are not good at communicating and inspiring any of us. Zimmer is a straight shooter and our team may take on his fighting spirit. His ties with Ireland are a good thing and again, I don't see him backing down on any point the way some of the lesser experienced OC may if there is a disagreement about a player etc. Zimmer could keep Nolan around and bring in Haley as suggested earlier, although it's difficult to look past the solid work of Dabol over the last half of the season.

McCoy, I don't know as much about, but I've read that he is articulate and people gravitate to him, but can he lead a team? Time will tell. Nolan will probably stick aroud with him as HC as well.

The biggest thing with all of these guys is who can put the best team of coaches together and you need experience in the NFL to do just that. In the end that's why I hang my hat on Zimmer and take the next step...
This is a great post. Have been wanting to post this for quite a while but I could not have said it better. thanks

I sure would like an offensive minded coach. Don't get me wrong, Zimmer seems like he'd be an excellent leader and if it ends up being him i'd be fine with that. I just want our offense to accel.

Zimmer, Chud, or Philbin would be fantastic. I am less sold on the OC from Denver due to his small sample size.

Honestly, I think people give too much credit to this organization that silence means a ton is going on behind the scenes. If they dragged their feet with a head coach search WHILE Tony Sparano was sitting there waiting, what makes you think they are more organized and dedicated now?

Normally you would bring the coach in for a second interview and then start negotiations with his agent to see what kind of compensation it would take to sign the guy.

The reason you're not hearing anything is because the agents for the coaches we're talking to aren't trying to leverage more money from another organization (a la Jeff Fisher) cause their clients don't have any offers on the table right now.

IMO, Colts decision and the possibility of candidates getting swallowed up will push Fins to make a move this week, if not today.

Zimmer....ALL Because Ireland & Him worked to-gether in Dallas??????.....But so did Columbo? How did that work out?????
Here we go again...............???????????????

This is all my opinion, but I think we'll have somebody at week's end. Based on timing (unless we end up interviewing Carmichael) I'm going to say the choice is between Zimmer and McCoy. Zimmer was in Tampa today, and McCoy will be in Oakland tomorrow, but they were the last 2 interviews. Combine that with Toub being told he is no longer being considered I'm connecting the dots (I just can't see Philbin becoming a head coach so soon after his son's death)

I'm thinking it'll be McCoy. I think Ross will want a young offensive guy as head coach.

Do you honestly think they'd hire Zimmer only b/c of that?

Only because of that? Probably not. Largely because of that? Quite possibly. I could easily see Ireland's familiarity with Zimmer making him a bit favored over some of the other candidates.

It is quiet.I think we sign Zimmer before the bucs do.We dont want to lose two in a row.

I don't really care that zimmer worked with ireland in dallas... zimmer did something in cincy... columbo did nothing...

see the difference?
