Only because of that? Probably not. Largely because of that? Quite possibly. I could easily see Ireland's familiarity with Zimmer making him a bit favored over some of the other candidates.

I don't claim to know much about coordinators but I am familiar with Zimmer being a good candidate. I think his connection to Ireland would play a small role in hiring him (if that happened) but not much.

Right, which means that if Ireland (and by extension, Ross) see two candidates as being mostly equal, who do you think likely gets the nod? The one they have personal experience with. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad thing. It just is what it is.
