In what has become an odd August tradition, for the fourth straight Sunday night Drew Rosenhaus has appeared on WSVN's Sports Xtra to discuss why his client, Dolphins OLB Matt Roth, STILL isn't practicing.
"The bottom line with Matt is he’s got an injury, just like any injured player," Rosenhaus told host Steve Shapiro. "Matt is no different than any other guy that's hurt. The bottom line is that he will be out there when he’s able to. He’s got a great motor, he’s got a lot of heart, he wants to play."
When will that be?
"I don’t know. I honestly don’t know," Rosenhaus said.
Are the Dolphins frustrated with Roth, as has been reported?
"I can’t speak for the team but I don’t think they should be," Rosenhaus said. "I hope that Matt gets out there really soon for him."
We are less than three weeks away from the season opener in Atlanta.
So, at this point, are you banking on Roth being active for that game? Or is it a better bet that he will open the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list?

Guys I see Roth starting the season on PUP, No way he will be ready to begin the season.

If he's healthy he'll play.

I've seen rook's come in Mid/late August and start the 1st game and it's not like Roth would have to learn much like a rook would.

The guy plays the run great and now having Taylor back and Wake for pass rushing situations it makes me hope Roth can get out there

If healthy I think he will play, but after this I have a feeling he will not be resigned and possibly traded. Since we will be drafting LB'ers this next draft.

I cannot wait for this to be over and done with & Thank God Miami resigned JT.

Exactly, otherwise we would be screwed. Roth is good against the run dont get me wrong. But I would rather draft a all around better OLB this coming year, rather then resign this guy.

I rather the money that is gonna be spent on him go to Ronnie' contract and Fasano's.

Why keep only 2 good players when we have the money to keep 3?

I believe that if Roth doesnt practice this week, he will start the year on the PUP list.

I can't believe how annoying/big this situation became. Trade him then keep Porter, Taylor, Wake, Walden, Anderson, and Moses.
