This is a dream scenario...

We somehow get the 5th seed and play @Houston.. If anyone saw that game tonight, it's not hard to see that Texans offense is abysmal. They should have lost against against a Bengals team who was without Green, Eifert, Bernard, and Hill (he played a few snaps)- That's gotta be like 80% of their offense. Obviously the Texans defense is what got them the division title, but our weakness would easily be playing a team that can challenge our secondary. This would be a great matchup for us.

I could see us potentially beating the Texans in the first round, getting us to potentially face...

The Raiders without Carr in the second round who have a below average defense... I like our chances!

Dolphins @ Patriots in the AFC Championship game? Hey I can dream...:brewskis:

Happy Holidays! Go Fins!

Scenarios...we still haven't clinched. Denver could still easily win their last two. Oakland's situation really hurts us in terms of making it in.

This could all come down to the Chiefs winning or losing tomorrow. If Denver wins tomorrow, then they face the Raiders without Carr...we could be in trouble. We could be looking at needing to beat the Patriots to make the playoffs. I have no faith in the Chargers chances to knock off KC next week.

As nice as it is to dream of facing the Raiders without Carr in the playoffs, that Carr injury could go a long way towards costing us a playoff spot.

Let's secure and then talk. But yes the 5 seed could have a nice path to the Super Bowl. But there's still too many variables to consider it right now.

It is unfortunate we play the early game before Denver next week. New England has to try and win not knowing what will happen in Denver game assuming Denver wins against KC today.

Our game will more than likely be flexed to the 4 p.m. slot to prevent that sort of advantage.

Also . . . just hope for a KC win tomorrow night OP.

We get all caught up about going after the 5 seed to play @ Houston . . . the real scenario is, what if Baltimore beats Pittsburgh tomorrow but then goes to Cincinnati and falls flat? Then Houston is the 3 seed (Pitt not losing next week at home to Cleveland) and we still heading to Pittsburgh on wildcard weekend.

Lets just get in. We'll figure the rest out later.

No thank you, I'll take the KC win tomorrow to assure us a spot. Sure, I'd love to be on the Houston & Oakland playoff track instead of the Pitt/Baltimore & Patriots track, but I don't want to have to rely on Oakland beating Denver next week. Just get in. If we want to think about 5 seed, let's do it by beating NE next week.

I don't mind talking about scenarios. Normally this time of year we are talking about the draft and who the next HC should be. I am all good looking at seedings right now...

I had a thread about this last week. I think the easiest scenario was for the AFC North winner to get the four seed, and the best chance of that happening probably died last week when the Steelers came back against the Bengals and the Ravens held on against the Eagles. It's going to be hard to root for the Ravens tonight knowing that they likely won't lost to Cincinnati and if the Dolphins make the playoffs, they'd be going to Baltimore. The Ravens are the LAST team I want to see in the playoffs.

But like others have said, let's just get in first and figure it out after.

Yeah we're fans, not coaches or players. I dont have to prepare for the patriots. All I have to do is drink beer and sit.

With Carr going down I very much can see Denver winning next week. I can see us winning too but that will be extremely difficult. It makes tonight's game enormous for us now. KC better get it done tonight!

The Gaytriots will be coming in to Hard Rock guns a blazin'. But, we will be too. No excuse Dolphin brethrens who live in Florida go to the game!!! Pack the stadium remove the stench of the Gaytriot fans. They have no business to rule our stadium. Get rowdy boys and kick their asses!!! Because we have arrived and WINNING IS CONTAGIOUS. I know I may be so evil but, I also would love for us to injure **** Brady that would be so storybook. Also, I would like us to pummel them to oblivion 38 - 19!!! Show them we are here to kick the **** out of you MF's and we are not just here to be here!!! GO DOLPHINS!!!!

The NFL is not the NBA or NCAA in terms of playoff seeding. If the Dolphins were the #5 seed and win their Wildcard game, they would only play the #2 seed if the #6 seed also wins. The NFL re-seeds their playoff "brackets".
