Sonics Hire coach...... finally

Too bad we've just been stupid by trading off Allen and then letting Lewis walk....:confused::tantrum:
 
It Durant's team....at least they were smart enough to know that Allen and Lewis, even with Durant, weren't going to win anything in the west. The Sonics will suck for the next couple years, but it will be for the better in the long term. Keeping Allen past his prime and signing Lewis to some ridiculous deal would only have handicaped the team and kept them from building a contender.
 
You have to look at the bigger picture. A new owner not from Seattle, a young GM and coach not from around here. Trade off the biggest contract, and let the guy who has been on the team the longest (9 seasons) and don't have to pay the big contract. Bennit is going to ask to get out of the lease here at Key arena on Oct. 23rd. If everything goes the way they are planning the Sonics will be long gone this time next season.

Basically by doing all of these things, they are pushing the fans away, so it will be an easy move.

I was hoping to have Allen help mentor Durant. Oh well...
