Sounds like Carey will accept pay cut

I'm glad to hear this. I know a lot of people are hard on him, but I've always been a fan. He isn't the greatest, but he's a stable player at an important (albeit not as important as LT) part of the line. You can get better than him, but at the same time, you can also get much worse.

This is good news. Always liked Vernon Carey, and I'm glad he'll be here longer. If we can sign O'Hara and Davis then our O-Line is going to look straight nasty AND have legitimate depth. Looks like this regime is finally putting their money where their mouth is this offseason and actually trying to win in the trenches instead of getting guys like Pat McQuitplayingfootballbecauseyousuck.

How is this good news? I mean it is good news that he will be playing, but with what motivation? What if he only goes half speed because he feels like we ripped him off. The whole situation blows.

Then he'll be cut and he'll get even less by other teams, if there are other teams lining up to sign someone who "plays hard when he wants to". This sucks for Vernon, but dude has been making some nice bank since 2004, I wouldn't shed any tears for him.

Vernon is not that kind of guy. He loves the game, he loves the city and he loves the team. He will play his heart out.

Perhaps the money saved in a new deal with Carey won't be used to sign a new player but to extend an existing player, like Wake.

Dude they have already sunk a bunch of money into our O line and they STILL have a revolving door at the right guard position.

If Vernon hasn't played half speed with going through what he has gone through being a member of this team since 2004 with the exception of 2008 then I wouldn't count on that. The 2008 season brought him to tears in a press conference, Vernon is a team guy and is all about Dolphins football and winning.

Always the optimist............

Watch us be freeing up money to sign Leonard Davis.

they need to get him so they can bring the band ( Free Reign) back together. Davis, Colombo, and Procter can play their heavy metal on the side lines during games as part of Ross's gameday experience.

Move him inside at guard to start and you have a quality backup for Long and Colombo at tackle who are both coming off injuries....his Motivation will be having a job and working hard to win a Super Bowl because he's one step closer to being cut and without a job......

I would prefer to hear covers of Guns 'n Roses from a school band than those guys.
