New England Patriots veteran free agent defensive end Mark Anderson is traveling tonight to visit the Tennessee Titans today, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Anderson is set to meet with the Titans today and Sunday and has another visit scheduled with an undisclosed AFC team on Monday.

Anderson previously visited the Miami Dolphins.

Anderson, 28, recorded 10 sacks and forced two fumbles last season for the Patriots, operating as a speedy edge pass rusher.

With Mario Williams having joined the Buffalo Bills, Anderson is one of the top pass rushers still available along with Kamerion Wimbley.

The former Alabama standout has 35 1/2 sacks in seven career NFL seasons with 163 tackles and seven forced fumbles.

Probably the money that cost us from signing him.

He would have been a very solid addition.

The Dolphins are a cheap organization. They overpay for scrubs but won't pay for top talent.

I agree with them being cheap, but in no way is Mark Anderson top talent.

Anderson is very good, but in no way does he scare opposing defenses.

Still, it would have been nice to see him lined up next to Wake.

My guess, Phins are targeting a pass rusher in the 1st round and figured Anderson wanted too much.

He might not be top talent, but he is pretty good. My point is the Dolphins always sign lower tier free agents and ignore the impact ones.

Soliai is an impact signing and when Flynn signs, that will give us 2.

My guess, our FO is saving some cap space so that Wake cab get a new deal.

Wake would make a 3rd big time signing.

By impact ones, you mean the guys who are getting this mega contracts who most of them are probably not even worth? Got ya. Karlos Dansby appreciates being called a "lower tier" free agent.

He will also visit another team (AFC) on Monday.

I also think NE will be out of the running now that they signed Trevir Scott from Oakland. The dotn have the cap room to compete although they still hope to get him back.

Soliai was resigned by the team. I am talking about free agents they bring in from other teams.

Dansby was an impact free agent, but that was three years ago and when Parcells was in charge. I am talking about the here and now with Ireland in charge.

It was actually 2 years ago, and we also traded for Brandon Marshall and gave him a big contract then also. Last year we brought in Reggie Bush and Kevin Burnett. You can't sign Mario Williams every year, or you'll be in cap hell. Miami has actually done pretty well with nabbing 1 or 2 guys every year . . . just wish they nab a QB.

Best Free Agent signings are the ones where you retain players that you drafted.

Look at the best teams in the NFL. How many of them went after the "Big Names"?

The best teams pay their best players, why do you think Washington is outbidding everyone every year?

The answer is big name Free Agents are always overpaid and take up cap space that can be used to sign players who are worth signing.

Bush and Marshall were trades though. Didn't Burnett come via a trade as well? I can't remember. But I am talking about actual free agent signings.
