Pennington's surgery required only an arthroscopic procedure by Dr. James Andrews on Friday, repairing a torn labrum and minimal damage to the joint capsule as the result of a dislocated right shoulder, sources said.

Dr. Andrews did not discover further damage to the rotator cuff which has twice undergone major repair in the past six years. A third repair of the rotator cuff would have jeopardized Pennington's career.
Looks like Pennington will be playing in 2010. Obviously it likely won't be with us, but I am glad he will at least have the option to come back to the league.

Looking forward to him coming back. I would love it if the Dolphins signed him for a 2 year contract so he can continue to mentor Henne but i'm sure he'll want to be the starter. Best of luck to Captain Penny!

yea im glad it wasnt real serious, i thought his career was over

Great news for Penny, hopefully he doesn't go to a team that will be playing us. That would be tough to watch.

i wish Pennington nothing but the BEST, he gave us everything he had, thank you Chad!

That is good news, even though I wouldnt mind him as a QB coach down the line.

I agree completely. I would have a hard time rooting against him...but I would...

if we didn't get thigpen i'd love him as a backup...

when i heard henne was in the film room with pat white not penny i thought that alone was a pretty big loss.

i just had labrum surgery. its no joke im in a sling 6 weeks day and night. up to a year recovery. was told i cant do push ups orbench press again and will be stiff. you guys thought he had a weak arm befor just wait

I'm happy for Pennington and his family. I wish him the best of luck in the future and hope he comes back as a backup. If Henne doesn't work out maybe Pennington will stick around until we can get another Quarterback. Thanks for the post.
