Sources: Ireland suggested that Martin confront Incognito physically

Yeah well it seems one of them took offense to that and well that's illegal. And no you or anyone else doesn't get to tell the victim how they feel.

Absolutely, but if it did bother him then he should have said something.

Right it is a MULTI-Billion dollar a year business, but not that's not a real job! Even McDonalds would fire you for that.

So the guy that took Incognito's helmet off and swung it at his head, lets say he connected, do you think the police should have marched onto the field and taken him away in cuffs for assault? There is precedence for this in sport as the Vancouver police was asked to bring charges on a hockey player for hitting another with his stick. IMO its not a line we want to cross in the NFL.

May want to hear what Warren Sapp has to say about Richie's use of the word.

I have read it, have you read what Keyshawn Johnson said about how Sapp was a bully as well? At the same time Sapp stood his ground and basically told him to shut the heck up.

Actually there was a hockey player arrested for blatantly bashing a players head with a stick. Yes I think if Smith connected he would have been charged. Do you really want to say athletes can get away with crime? Where is the line drawn? Plenty of race car drivers and their crew members get arrested for fighting!

Richie was treated Sapp as "the enemy" on the football field. Thus he used the word to incite reaction and take Sapp off his game. Not racial. Not personal. Just business.

Some guys seem to think that it's all roses and flowers and kumbaya in the NFL trenches.

My goodness. A new story could be written every week w. what is said in the heat of NFL battle by white and black players -- if you're into that sort of thing. Trash talk is amazing.

Yeah well it appears he did and so did his agent!

And there, in my opinion, is what has led us to a world full of people scared to speak their mind to one another. He approached the situation in the wrong way and now look. If Martin says to Incognito that he needs to stop, we wouldnt be having this circus.

Yeah well it is also reported that Martin handled this the right way per NFL guidelines. But since it isn't really a job that doesn't count.

Here's a thought if our coaches hadn't enlisted a player with a well known and documented past of violence and hazing to toughen Martin up we wouldn't be in this circus.

If our GM handled the situation like most executives running a billion dollar company would. Well we wouldn't be in this position!

Race is personal.

"You may be obliged to wage war, but not to use poison arrows"

Personally, if he wants to go there, then i say so be it. But he owns it from then on.

Where do you draw the line indeed. Hitting someone with a helmet in hand not OK. Taking a swing at someone on the field with a bare fist, is that OK? Should you charge a player with assault for launching at a defenseless receiver with the crown of his helmet? What about pushing a guy down, isn't that assault as well?

I never said it wasn't a job though and so far there has not been any report that says Martin tried to contact Philbin or anyone in a management position.
