so i might be moving to matawan/aberdeen in a month and that puts a damper on going to the dolphins bar in east hanover every sunday... so i checked the handy dandy dolphin bar list http://www.phins.com/bars.php#NJ and saw the place in hazlet which i shall be 5 minutes from...

so i was curious if anyone from here ever goes there to let me know how it is, if the games always sohwn, good dolphins crowd etc... because if it sucks then ima have to get directv and just watch from home...
 
The cove closed years ago! its now the steak exchange.. and i dont think they have the sunday ticket anymore.. If your in matawan your not to far from a place called Poor Billy's (woodbridge) its a great sports bar with all the games. a little expensive tho. I used to go to all those places and deal with the a$$hole fans of the opposing teams and spend 40-50 bucks for food beer and tips. My advice is what i have DIRECTV.. comforts of your own home and no B.S... Good Luck go fins
 
If you don't mind driving to Rahway...

25 minutes or so from you... There's a great bar called the players Pub in Rahway right on Route 27.

That's the place I go to most of the time since it's about 10 minutes from my house.

It's not necessarily a Dolphins bar (more of a universal sports bar), however there's a few Phin fans including myself that frequent there and they play all the games. Lots of fantasty football leagues there so you get alot of different football fans intersted in all of the games.

As far as price goes, I calculated it, and you actually save money by going to the bar then buying direct TV. that's why I cancelled mine.

I spend on the average ten bucks every sunday, which includes two Huge mugs of beer and 10-12 buffalo wings (which are Off the hook).

The prices are extremely cheap and the people are all cool.

^i used to live near rahway in elizabeth... but your only spending 10 bucks? me and my girl used to go to the bar in east hanover and after a few pitchers and some wings and some food we were looking at at least 60 buck tabs, haha... 10 bucks would be nice but i drink too much for that, haha...

well i still didn't get the place yet so we'll see... im starting to lean towards direct tv, the kids are fans but they never really watch the games with me unless its a sunday night/mon night and even those are too late for them (3 and 5 year olds)... so they were always with the babysitter for dolphins games, so maybe we'll stay home and get the kids more involved...
 
I'm new to the bar scene.... but I'd love to actually go to a phins bar in NJ. I know theres a freakin ton of phinfans in NJ... but being around a crowd of them watching the game right here in NJ would be awesome.
 
I live in central jersey as well. Last year i went to a bar in neptune city but i think it just changed owners. There is a place in belmar called bar-a.. Its a club in the summer but they show all the games on sundays and they get a bunch of fans for all teams. I think they have a raiders fan club there or one of those teams. This is the first i have heard about this place in east hanover even if its a ride seems like a fun place to watch a fins game.
 
when i lived in south brunswick nj .. i would go to a place called the north brunswick pub .. it was loaded with fellow dolfans!!! but i recently moved to cape may county ,, and let me tell you it is no-mans land down here... it is all PHILLY sports and nothing else... so i just got my directv .. and ordered my sunday ticket... looking forward to watching all the fins games from my comfy couch!!! oh lets not forget the carona lights!!!!
