Sparano (apparently) thinks Columbo is not the problem with the OL

lol wow. comon tony really its hard for people to have any faith in your coaching when you toss out bull**** like this.

Dear Lord, I hope it isn't true. That would be absolutely moronic.

I thought it was the truth when I first heard of it. They wanted out of that contract and moved him to guard to justify the pay cut, now to save face they're not going to move him back which would make it an unjustified pay cut.

The question is, who were they targeting for RT? Did they settle for columbo or did tony just have a man crush on him?

Sparano's comments!!! No comments....

Maybe he thinks we are as stupid as his coaching style/staff/trainer

Sad if true. To sacrifice the betterment of the team to "save face"... smh...

I believed we didn't pursue other tackles. IIRC we were briefly courting McKinnie but never close.

I agree that Colombo is not the problem....the problem is Sparano himself........he's started 3 new guys on that o-line every year he's been the HC....you're supposed to let the unit gel, instead he keeps on playing around with it as he was playing Madden. And to think I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

Ozzy rules!!

This is really a sad situation. This team is in the bad situation it is in, because of stupid decisions made by those in charge. From Tony and Jeff all the way up to Ross. That Tony and Jeff both honestly see Colombo as a starting talent is a small, but perfect example of why they both need to go. I feel bad for Tony, I really do, but it is time for a change.

Now that's a post.

Too bad my typo ruins it.

Maybe what he meant to say was Colombo's salary is not a problem with the OL.

You expect guys like TS and Ireland to have a bit of swagger to them, or they wouldn't have gotten to this level of their sport. But their "square peg into a round hole" arrogance is what's ultimately going to send them packing. They "knew better" than everyone else last year and went with what wasn't working despite ample evidence they weren't gaining traction. Same 'ol song & dance with these guys.

The problem with Sparano is he is one of the most stubborn human beings! He signed this guy and is an "O-line" coach so he wont change any of it even when the problem is glaringly obvious

This regime was doomed the moment they put tuna in charge. He was going to bring superbowls to Miami by doing what worked in the NFL 20 years ago.I recall Ireland saying they wanted to build a "big" team with big players and therefor they never bother to get any speed....even now they don't have much speed and the little they have(Bush and Gates)they're not using it much or the right way.

Agreed with your speed assesment 100%. We criticize the crap out of henne for his lack of Red Zone production but never mention the fact that none of our WR's or RB's have scored from outside the redzone either. We still lumber down the field with our new speed editions being a non factor. The majority of the time we have the 2010 offense on the field bu traded R&R for DT.

Well, the stuck to Henne, and it seems to have worked out. So +1 to them.

But when Columbo is ruining all that progress... yeah, it's incomprehensible such a level of arrogance. Just to make a point? Really?
